Dunno if you guys are all still looking, but I'd be happy to take a peek around here (michigan) for ya.  There's a couple pretty extensive liquor stores near me.  If I come across any, I'll let you know.

I'd be happy to trade a bottle or two, should I find any, for a good Loki recipe *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*

Random Girl

Todd is heading down to Georgia for DragonCon over labor day weekend and is going to be trying to find some for me/us.

I'll be looking when I get down there too over Halloween.

So Winterland sets me up with a bottle, most generous.  I went to pick it up at his work where he had it in his car.  It was a hot and sunny day so I was driving my Pontiac Solstice.  For those unaware, it has no trunk (seriously, you can't get a loaf of bread in there).  I went from Winterland's to a hobby store leaving the bottle on my front seat...on a hot day...with the top up...black car, black interior, black top...Hot.

Well when I came out an hour later the paper seal on the cork was half torn from the internal pressures applied to it.  The cork was distended, I could push it in a quarter inch and it would slide back up...Oh oh!

I dropped the top, turned on the air, and placed it on the passenger floor board resting against the seat.  Almost home I tapped the brake for a merging car...I grabbed at the bottle as it tipped forward..."BOOP"!

Yep, sweet sticky scotch all over my hand, cork on the dash, open top roadster with an unsealed bottle doing 60 down the highway.   The car reeked of booze.  Wheel in one hand, scotch in the other...Just like college.  I pulled over and retrieved the cork from the drivers floor, put it in the bottle and held it between my legs.  I had nothing to wash my hand with so I licked it off thinking "Well that's stupid".  "Seriously officer, it happened just like that".

Wow sounds like quite the adventure. At least your car should smell good from any that spilled.

Clearing out the trunk!  I'm going for it....  ;D

Thanks to Tarac and Lord M for introducing me to my syrupy namesake yesterday. :) It is indeed delicious! As is the honey liqueur, yummmm....
Masquerading as a normal person day after day is exhausting.

Damn! Ya'll paint such an enticing picture.  Too bad I despise scotch.

But that's the great thing about Amber for those who don't like scotch...doesn't taste like it. :)

Damn, I'm easy.  But that's what she said, too.  I'll give it a go, if anyone should happen to have a flask...

I just got three bottles of it and the lady who I got it from emailed all the other stores and I should hear back from her this week. If she gets more I will let you all know. I just saw a bottle on Ebay sell for $85.00. It's gonna be a good year of fest.
Knight, FOP, Pirate, Woodsman...I am a man of many faces.

$85 Wow! plus 13.95 shipping
I never knew you could sell booze on Ebay. Looks like they get around the law by saying they are only selling the bottle not the contents. ha!

There was a bottle of Amber at the Liquor Depot in St. Louis Park. Unless Noble Dreg got it.

Does anyone else cut the Amber?
I bought a bottle of Naked Grouse Scotch which was suggested at a liquor store in Golden Valley. Being test marketed in Minneapolis. Very nice price and I thought it was better than The Glenlivet 10 year that preceded it in my booze cabinet.

I mixed about 1/2 and 1/2 as straight Amber needs a little more kick to me. Very nice now.

Just a mention about selling alcohol on ebay; don't.  If they catch you, the buyer AND seller risk federal prosecution.  They can go on about that it is "just for the bottle" but that's not for the seller of buyer to decide in the end.  I've heard a lot of horror stories about what happens to people trying to sell things they shouldn't on ebay.
