Has anyone stayed at the hotel before Hill View Motel? I was wonder what it is like if it worth it or not, they say on the website that I found that they have rooms for 29.95 and up. Im looking for a cheap but good place to stay as my back can't take camping anymore. Thanks for your help.

I haven't stayed there before, but I can't imagine you can expect too much from a $30 room.. on the other hand, it's not a tent.

If memory serves, I crashed in a $30/night motel room somewhere in Montana a few years back and the bed was relatively comfortable.. overall cleanliness left something to be desired, but it sure beat trying to curl up on the floor of the truck I was delivering to Portland.. lol

Just make sure you scan the sheets & towels with a black light before using them.   :o  ;D

Masquerading as a normal person day after day is exhausting.

Most definitely check for bedbugs.

Sir Morgan and I stayed at place around the $30 mark once.... we were scared to climb between the sheets. After that experience I would recommend taking your own pillow and a sleeping bag to sleep in on the bed... after checking for  bed bugs!

The only reason why I was wondering is that its only 1/2 mile from fair on 169 and 1 block or so from the Holiday and Super America gas stations. (I think, not good at milage) The small blurb that they have on the Motel says that rooms start and $30 and go up in price from there. Im trying to figure out a way to save money and be able to also walk some what normal the next day without having to take my pain meds and not have to donate a kidney for one night at the hotel. I know that some places and have reserved and walked out of that I would not touch with a 10' pole, so yes I fully understand about the bedbugs and other critters.

Here are some reviews: http://travel.yahoo.com/p-reviews-361727-prod-hotel-action-read-ratings_and_reviews-i;_ylt=Ar07aWbP4QyrLqu0FBn7l4DiphQB, http://www.insiderpages.com/b/3716664189

They look pretty mixed so I guess it's up to you if you want to try it out.

On the plus side, they are on the list of fire-safe hotels and motels: http://www.city-data.com/fire-safe/hotels-55379.html

I have stayed at the Hell View the last few years for last weekend, the overall is not bad the bathrooms leave a lot to be desired if you get a room with no blocking around the floor to stop the water from going every where when you take a shower.
The beds were OK the fridge works at least.
Scotch the only way to go

Have you thought about bidding on a room through Priceline.com?  When we went to Bristol we got a $100+ per night room for $50.  I was bidding rather late so I didn't risk going lower. If you want more info on bidding send me a PM.

Thanks Leyla, I have not thought about priceline, I will have to check that out. Thanks for all the help everyone, I was wondering why everytime I drove past the Motel the parking lot seemed to be alittle empty for the price of their rooms.

The Super 8 in Shakopee isn't bad. They get a lot of people in for the MNRF. They have a Hot tub at least. Comfortable rooms that are clean, Continental breakfast, fresh coffee.

If we are not at our daughter's place, we stay at the Air Force Reserve base on the north side the MPS/STP airport off 55.

Rather late reply, but if you are ok with a 20 min drive, the Livinn Suites in burnsville is $50 a night and we found it clean and comfortable. We just take highway 169 straight down and back again, and find it doesnt take long at all!

Two works about the Hell View I mean Hill View.  Scary Pit! I've stayed there.  The doors don't lock the bathrooms flood and the rooms stinkkkkkk!!!

lady serena

Thanks for the info. I won't be staying there.

I stayed there once or twice during my first year.  It wasn't awful.  If you are looking to save a lot it's not terrible.

But again this was 7 years ago.
