Thanks for the info Gypsyqueenie. Too bad he's not a regular at MIRF anymore. He looked pretty cool. To get that shot of him I had to climb up a rock and jump over to a stump. I think I shot 4 or 5 frames before I could get this one which was almost clear of people in the crowd. I'm sure I looked like an idiot the whole time.  ;) Our daughters thought he looked pretty cool too. If you think he would want a slightly out of focus shot of himself, feel free to pass it along to him.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone on this board happened to be the same guy who took my sister and I's photo at the faire on Sat. 9-12? I was wearing a green and gold tudor type gown and my sister was wearing a reddish mroe elizabethan gown with a riding hat. whoever it was stopped us and asked to take our photo with a pro looking camera. anywho, just curious where it ended up, would like a copy if I can find it :). thanks!

Oh and I guess I should introduce myself eh? lol. name is Rachel, hail from the thumb area. been going to MIRF for a few years now. this was the first year we decided to go in garb. I have to say it was a blast! I wish I would have done it sooner! so yeah, guess that's about it, hello all!

Lord Virgil

Hello and welcome LadyRachel.  Going in garb is so much more fun that in mundanes.  My wife and I have been doing it for years and it's great fun.  You can lose yourself in your character and have some fun that you'd be slapped for in street clothes.  What happens at Faire stays at Faire (unless it ends up on here or You Tube or Facebook or.... ;D)
Nothing better in life than enjoying a pint amongst friends...Huzzah!

LadyRachel

Hello Lord Virgil! Definatly agree, it is so much more fun in garb! So yes, it's garb from now on, welcome my new obsession, lol! oh and definatly agree with what happens are faire stays at faire, hehe!  ;)

I'll look through my shots but I usually shoot first then hand out a business card with a web address on it so you can find your pictures later. Did the photographer have a beard?, bald?, in garb? wearing a hat?

Jon.

Cyron

well i can definately say it was not me for those dates.. didnt get a chance to go to the faire till this past sunday.
I'm walking in a dream half the time, and sleeping through reality the other half.
Warning: Have camera, WILL Shoot!!

Eric of Lyon

These are three of my favs from last Friday.

It was a good day to shoot the joust. No crowds to shoot over.

Fare thee Well.

Nope, no buisness card. hmmmm, trying to remember what he looked like. I know he was not a big guy, on the slender side. might have been in garb, but it was hard to tell if it was acctually gard or just casual clothes. he was nealing down most of the time he took our pic., and then he just kinda said thanks and walked off, so i didnt really get a good look or act quick enough to ask where they were going to end up. I don't think he was wearing a hat, can't remember if he was bald, i don't think so tho. Had a pretty nice camera, it was quite large and fancy, sorry I don't know a thing about cameras, other than I can tell when ones a pro one, lol. that's about all I can remember  :-\

You lost me at slender.   :)

I don't know if it's possible, but your best bet might be to get back for one of the last two weekends and hit Rings n Things at around 11am.  There are usually a few of us geeks with cameras hanging out at that point.  If you don't recognize anyone, I'm sure one of us would love to take another one.

Thanks for all the help everyone! I kinda figured it would be a long shot trying to find this one person out of a zillion faire go'ers. Not sure if we will get back again this season or not, funds are running a lil low (have aready been there twice, once not in garb) but definatly next year! So I might just be taking you up on that offer then, the pictures all you guys have taken and posted on here are amazing! :)

Jon Foster

LadyRachel, I'm pretty sure it wasn't me either. We were at the faire on the 12th. I'm not the thinnest fellow these days either so that pretty much rules me out.  ;)

If you do get back to the faire this year follow Xanthenes suggestion and stop by the Things From Rings booth around 11:00 AM. Pretty much on any given day you'll find several people ready to take your picture. And if the shooters know who you are and what you look like, you'll probably get a few really nice candid shots of yourself afterward.
