Sadly, I must report the loss of another of the royal felines in the home of The Purple Dragon. This evening at 6:40 PM CST, Joseph, The Court Jester passed from this realm to the next to await on the other side of the rainbow bridge with Asmodeus who passed in May.  He had a good life with us, and went peacefully in my wife's arms. Rest in Peace my furry little buddy.

Always sad to lose a buddy...but he is waiting for you all!!!! And I think in good company....with as many as I have waiting and the others we will arrive and be run over! Glad he had a good life!

I know (hope) we're doing the right thing, I guess I just need some reassurance..Another of our feline friends is in a bad way.  She's been getting ever skinnier in recent months and even though we knew something was really wrong, we decided a while ago to just let nature take its course.  Yesterday we found "Brat Cat" huddled up in the basement, listless, weak and barely able to stand. She's not eating, we can barely get her to drink by putting a water bowl under her nose, and she was wet from soiling herself.  Later today when my husband gets home, he's taking her to the vet to have her put down.  I feel guilty for not wanting to run tests to see if she can be healed but we don't have what would probably cost hundreds of dollars right now, (and as far as I know, most vets need cash at time of service.) I feel terrible putting a price tag on our pets life, I love her but I don't see any other option. I don't see any point in prolonging her suffering.

I am sorry for your furry friend. I was in the same situation several years ago. I also didn't want to do what had to be done. I keep remembering   him when he was healthy, playful and loving. I didn't want him to spend his remaining time in pain and me wondering when his time would come. I sometimes think that our furry friends are on loan to us . They bring us such happiness and love us unconditionally. I can't remember when I haven't had my furry friends and what it was like.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Lady Neysa. I have been in similar situations- many times- sadly. You do what you must. Throwing lots of money at a very sick cat often does not help. Each is different. HUGS.
I will hate it when I have to make a decision about Tachi or Chingy.
On the other hand- I got adopted again. read News from Meow Manor!

A loss in our house hold today. Our lovely little fur-less baby, Singe, a Sphynx cat, came down with phenmonia and died this evening at 6:40. He fought valiantly all day, but lost his fight when his little heart gave out. The vet was wonderful and did his best to help Singe.
But our household is silent in sorrow tonight. His charm and sweetness will be missed.

HUGS! I am so sorry for your loss! Words are just not adequate at times like this! Sphinx cats are so dear. Poor thing.  You are in my thoughts dear Queen.

It's so hard to loose a beloved pet. I'm sorry for your loss too. I hope another little kitty finds his way into your hearts soon.

Neysa, don't feel guilty. Sometimes the best thing you can do for one you love is to let them pass in their own way while giving them the comfort they need to do so. I had a rescue dog some years back who became ill. We did all the tests and gave him medicine and so forth but it only slowed the progress of the illness. In the end we made the decision to just let him go. I think he was ready. Sometimes that's they best way to show your love. Hugs for you.

This is Maya.

She was a Stray that hung around our house but I got her to approach me one day during Christmas about 2 years back, and she has come to be a Very Loving and Affectionate Outdoor Cat.
We had her Spayed, and we Feed her Just as we would with an indoor cat, if not a little less, Because i figured she hunts outdoors as well.

She has Tortoiseshell coloring, But I dont really know What breed of cat she is made up of.

I have been in the position of having a cat to the vet knowing he was most likely not going to make it only to have the vet run up 400 bucks worth of bill in several hours then call to tell us he died anyway....all this after telling us he had a really good chance with treatment... I now go with my gut..if they are really bad and/or old I treat them at home and do what I can to ease them on their journey...or have a vet put them out if there is one I can trust.... We have a great horse vet who also helps us with our many many other beasts... I can trust him more than anyone I have ever known!!! Trust is a great thing when a dear pet has a problem.... sad to hear of so many losses here!!!! Blessings to you all! Cat

Maya is adorable!  What a pretty cat!
I know all about Vet bills and losing a cat I have just spent money I did not have. I do the same thing, Cat. Hard to know what is right.
My Tachi is down with another sinus infection- as well as diabetes and thyroid disease- but he is doing OK. Neri is growing and eating a lot- for a wee kitten!
She is doing much better.
I give so much medication to cats- I almost feel like a vet!
