Tomorrow, Dec 12, I will have a biopsy done on a tumor that was discovered at the base of my tongue. To say that I am scared is an understatement. There is a 25% chance that this tumor is benign, and that is how we look at it. I write this not for myself,( there is only one set of footprints in the sand and I am being carried), but for my wife. She is putting on a good front, when she is around me, but I know it is hard on her. All I ask is prayers to give her the strength and support to see this through. I love her and I know she loves me. I just ask for her burden to be lighten. I thank you all and God bless.

The result is in on the biopsy. I have Squamous Carcinoma. I had an MRI today and tomorrow morning I see a specialist in Rochester and should soon start Chemo and radiation therapy. My wife appears to be doing well, at least around me. I know her through and a couple of other people keep an eye on her for me.

If we have the time tomorrow we will be telling her mother, then off to do the hardest thing of all. I have held off telling my son and daughter anything until I had something definate. It is going to be a hard thing to do.

After my daughter knows I will be keeping my myspace site updated for all my friends. It is surprising how many people you have as friends, when yo stop to think about it. When I was first diagnosed, just two short weeks ago, I was only going to tell a few people. Each day I kept running into friends that I knew would want to know. Hell of a way to make you realize how many friends you do have.

Thanks for all your prayers belive me they have helped.

Frank and Lillian.

Thanks for all the kind words. It is surprising how many friends one has, and sad that it sometimes take something like this for you to realize how many of them are out there. When this all started two weeks ago, we were going to tell only a few people, not make a big deal about it. Each day I saw people that I knew if I didn't tell they would be hurt. It boosts your spirits just knowing there are so many out there pulling for you.

Irish, yes I am going to Strong. I am well aware of how good that hospital is. As a medic I have dealt with most of the hospitals in Western NY and have found Strong to be one of the best. I just never felt I would have to deal with them on this personal of a level.

I will try to keep everyone updated. Because of all the people that want to know how I'm doing I will be blogging on myspace. If anyone is interested, they can pop on over and look me up. It's http://www.myspace.com/frankhomer  As I can I will be here as well.

Thanks once more for the prayers.

Thanks to everyone for all the good thoughts and prayers.

We had a good Christmas and my wife gave me the best gift of all, a three-year calendar. As she put it, this proves her belief that God will see us through this and I will be here for a long time. What more can I ask for, a loving wife who is standing by my side and a God who has eased my burden.

I have been fitted for the radiation mask and next week they do a dry run and if all goes well I will start radiation treatment the second week of January.

All the kind words of encouragement and hope have been more help than you can imagine, thank you all. May you have a joyful New Year.
