We camped friday night and wow was it cold, We finished out most of our interior walls and I woke up saturday sick as a dog so that was a lost day of work.
We have been spreading seeds near our building and outer area, Is there any trick to get the rye to grow? Would it work better for us to rake over the seeds after spreading them? I know there is a lot of dead leaves over the area so I assume that keeps alot of what we have been spreading for growing.
Will be back next saturday to stucco

I think the trick they said when we were out there for a volunteer day was to rake the ground bare first so there is 'texture' for the seeds to stick to...

On the volunteer work list is to rake up all the leaves. Raking will cause the grass seed to drop down to the soil level (so I hope).

We have several more bags of grass seed to spread as needed. I am using a hand-crank spreader that works quite well.

We are proceeding from the top of the hill down to the other areas. If you have been onsite, you will notice the Faire workers clearing alot of ground growth.

We need folks to cut out the tree stumps all over the area. If someone has a stump grinder, you will be gainfully employed for a few weekends. Otherwise, we need folks with shovels, hoes, chainsaws, rakes. First priority is the childrens area, as we all know that kids will trip over anything. We have painted the obvious stumps with paint in the childrens area, but that leaves over 90% of the Faire area unmarked.
