That would be pretty nifty, though, it wouldn't be something that we'd add to the official schedule, seeing as though we have SOOO many options here already. As it comes closer to time, we'll make a post of things to do while inside the faire grounds, so that people can pick and choose what they wish to do.

I cannot wait for it to be finalized to show you guys the pin for this Rendezvous. Joyce is freakin' awesome and we're so grateful that she jumped in and helped us with this!

So many awesome things are planned! SO hurry up and get here already!! :D

I am VERY excited!  I got some potentially thrilling news for the Scarborough Tours that we're planning.  I can't say for sure yet, because it's still in the planning stages, but if this happens, those of you who join us on the tours are going to be in for a HUGE treat!!!!!!!

Blue.... give me a shout and let me know what you want for me to do with the welcoming of out-of-towners and what not. I can even do something on Friday night to be ready for Sat morning if needed.

Wow, just found this thread-SOOOO Exciting!!!

Scarby is my home fair, and i have really been wanting to meet new RF Friends!!!!  Met a couple of fine folks last year, but with 3 kids with us most weekends, it can be hard to spend a lot of time socializing anywhere but the playground and games.

The tours sound awesome, it will be great to hear official tales of how home faire areas got their names. What fun!!! Can't Wait!!!  HUZZAH to the planners & helpers here!! ;D ;D ;D

I'm jumping on the band wagon a little late...

To keep from reading through 7 pages of info, can someone give me the Reader's Digest version of what Rendevous 'is' and why it seems to be a big event?  What would I be missing if I couldn't make it?

I'm very interested in attending, either way!

It ain't the years, it's the mileage.

Ok, the short run down.  R/F'ers vote on different faires.  The winner gets invaded, for one weekend, by as many R/F'ers that can make it.  You get to meet some of the people, from these forums, that you wouldn't normally get a chance to.  TRF hosted the first year, back in '06.... now it's Scarby's turn.   You may want to go because it won't be coming back to Texas for a while.  See you there!

To add to Fraser's reply, because it is a special "invasion" weekend, there are many more social events that wouldn't take place on a regular faire weekend.  On Friday night, there is usually a Meet & Greet at a predetermined location.  Sometimes in the morning before opening gate, there are tailgating breakfasts, with the local RF members of that faire acting as hosts.  Inside there are special events, too.  A few RenDezvous that we have attended, the group got to march in the parade, there were times set up for group pictures, different games for the group, even a wedding!

If you really want an idea of how wonderful the RenDezvous are, there have been 4 of them already, with Scarby to be #5, and my husband and I will have been to 3 of them, after this one.  We plan our vacation to go to RenDezvous, if it is at the time of year we can get away from our business, and have either driven or flown up to 1400 miles each way to attend.  It is definitely worth it.

The Pink Pirate will have to be be there for that weekend.  It sounds like so much fun.  We might even drag along a couple other ren friends. :)
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.
