I just got a Bodhran and now I want to learn how to use it. Got it for fun. Doesn anyone know where I can get lessons or know if the guys from the Dregs would teach me?

http://www.youtube.com/index   search Bodhran lesson or tutorial and you'll get some hits. Maybe help until you find more personal lessons.

Get yourself a DVD.  Cheaper than paying someone!

Well, Tim plays the bodhran, but he doesn't drink, so good luck with that one... ::)

Newdrum? How cool!

My husband, Graham Leathers plays bodhran and also gives lessons. He's currently with Bardz at Large and formerly played with Bramblebush and the Pyrates of Portobello at the MN fest. If you're interested in talking with him, he can be reached at leathersster@gmail.com or at 651-592-2667. (He also likes rum.)

All the best-

Hey, I wouldn't mind taking lessons. Maybe we could get enough people together for a class? (I can pay in rum, cash or Amber)

There's also the local Center for Irish Music http://www.centerforirishmusic.org/offerings.shtml It a few blocks north of the Menards on University Avenue (The Menards that replaced the motel that housed the defunct rennie hangout The Irish Well)
