Great pictures Valt and Melkar! Huzzah!
So sad Sherwood is over- but the pictures help capture the memories! It was a wonderful faire!

Queen Bonnie, I never got to properly introduce myself, but we spoke a couple of times right after parade.  I carried the wooden SingleTree sign and wore the bandoleer of pewter flasks.  You told me how curiosity kilt the cat and we had a great laugh about it.  I wish I could have gotten out to find you and to say hello correctly!

You met my evil pirate twin, Ken! She looks just like me- but I am the pretty one!  She told me all about those wonderful pewter flasks and meeting you.( She loves to meet all from R/F. as do I!)  She has her eye on the big pirate flask! LOL!

Catchin' up.  On this run I took a 200mm f/2.8 prime instead of my normal zoom.  Hard to see on the small size, but the bokeh is amazing at full-rez.

Playin' with fire...

I think this is the only time I saw Mike actually resting for a minute!

Amen to that. I never realized the difference between being a Patron and actually working the Faire. I figure over the six weekends (plus the rehearsal weeks), I managed to catch about six full performances. Although listed as the Participant and Patron campgrounds manager, I tried to help out wherever and whenever needed, including getting the Seven Sisters tradition/mythos started. Photo is of me taking a break in the Fairy Queen's throne that I designed and Faire management paid to get carved. It turned out to be a popular photo-op location.

Oh, dear.. um... who is THAT?   :-*

One of the Drishti Dancers http://sites.google.com/site/drishtidancers/home , they were performing under the name The Forest Gypsies in the schedule.   I think that's because they were sharing the stage with The Typsy Gypsys http://www.typsygypsys.com/Texas/index.html.  Both of these troupes are Austin-based.

The other bellydance troupe was Sirocco http://www.siroccodance.com/1601.html out of San Antonio.

It was also great to see some of the other dancers from Shunyata, Gypsy Dance Theater, etc... wandering the grounds during the various weekends.  Actually getting to relax and enjoy instead of being "on".  Good times.

Great photos, everyone!  Sherwood had an incredible first year and it is a joy to see the images that you all have captured.  I only got to attend once, but will surely return next year.  Here are a few shots from the 6th weekend.

A member of the pirate group at Sherwood rests in the small cemetery next to Maid Marian's Chapel.

A couple shots of the fireworks show at Sherwood Forest Faire.  It's a spectacular treat to watch after having a fine day at this wonderful new festival.

There was a Limeybird at faire and I didn't even know it.  Damn the bad luck )o:
