I'll keep your info just in case I need it anytime in the next few years. ;)

Would be an honor as well as a great time I am sure and hopefully you won't need to keep my info as I plan on being here long term.

I've caught a few at faire myself. I always feel out of place though as they always have a photographer there so i stand in the back and shoot. Can't get the best images that way. Oh and yes i would love to shoot a Renaissance Wedding... actually ANY wedding preferably themed. To bad you were not around 16 years ago when I got married the 1st time. We had a Renaissance Wedding with pig roast in our overgrown forested back yard. Now if I can just Toki to marry me... someone needs to REALLY Nudge him to ask me.

I know exactly what you mean, the very first day I got my very first dslr I went to my nieces wedding and it was no problem telling that I was not the photographer that day.  Everything was shot from the side or not everybody was looking at me or whatever it was it was easy to tell I was not the photog.

Now as my wife broke our time machine I can't go back and shoot your first wedding but if a second one rolls around just like Zoe it would be a great honor and I only hope that after meeting me and my being around for awhile you still feel the same way and would let me  :-[.

If he needs a nudge tell him you found a very reasonably priced photographer (that only applies here ;)) to shoot the nuptials.  Hey it couldn't hurt!!

Is there anywhere online that states when they will be taking place?  I thought there was a weekend dedicated to weddings but I guess not.

There is a Love and Romance Weekend, July 17 &18. In the past, that has been a particularly well packed weekend for weddings. Also, there is a Renewal of Vows ceremony.

"LOVE?and ROMANCE!                                                                                                                       July 17 & 18
Romancing the Throne
Join our romantic rogues and fair maidens, as we create a special atmosphere for a weekend dedicated to lovers.  Attend "Forever Real" Royal Wedding Ceremonies on the Rose Stage both Saturday and Sunday.  "Renewal of Vows", bring your cherished one to a special gathering and renew your vows of faith, commitment, and love on this most romantic of weekends.  ROMANCE_IS_IN_THE_AIR! Attend the "Wooing Contest" this weekend on the Pirates Pub. "

Blurb from site.

Hi, Skip! My condolences on your ankle. I'm just getting over a sprain myself and it's been so - so very so - deeply annoying.  On the up-side, I'll know how to spot you . . .

I'm new to this faire but you're welcome to hook up with my ladyfriend and me for an initial walk-around.  I'll be wearing black and green garb and a straw hat. My friend will almost certainly be wearing something off-shoulder with a black corset.

I plan to take the good advice to turn left out of the gate at opening time and stop first at Mistress Charlotte's booth to pay respects. You probably can catch us there if you wish.

Tell ya what - first-timer to first-timer, I'll toss my husband's surcoat into the car. It's a "free size."  If you get inside the gate and discover you really want some garb, you can toss it on over your street clothes for the day.
Garb: lovingly hand-washed, gently pressed, and hung in climate-controlled closet. Mundane clothing: usually on floor.

Thanks for the info, I did see this on the main site but unfortunately I think I am only going to be able to make it to opening and closing days this year (hey twice as many as years past  ;)).  Plus just showing up at someone's wedding and taking pictures would not seem quite right and like Lady de Laney mentioned earlier shooting from the side just isn't the same thing.  I am way too much of a control freak (at least when it comes to pictures) to be satisfied with shooting from the side.

Thank you for that, my only concern is carrying around my gear all day.  Might have to dump one of the camera's part way through and just change lenses as needed.

I am actually not new to CoRF as I have been I think three times before but I am new to this site and look forward to actually meeting so many of the people that I have only seen and taken pics of before.

I will most definitely look for you but if you see me first (see avatar and various descriptions - slight loss of hair etc...) make sure to stop me and introduce yourself.  Oh and get your pic taken of course.

I am not sure why but my wife and I always head left out of the gate - just naturally tend to break out of the pack I guess  ;D.

I really appreciate the offer of the coat - not sure how it would look with shorts but hey I'm game.  I am more of a cooler/cold weather person so some of the outfits I see at faire would never work for me.  No I am definitely going to get me a kilt when I garb up  8).

Ok so I was trying to figure out a name for my ren-alter-ego-self and asked Lady de Laney for help and wanted to know what the rest of you thought of a suggestion she had which is Master Da Vinci?  I was trying to go off the Da Vinci fairy box and the mega pixies I saw her post about in another thread. She mentioned the artist side and what she didn't even know is that I am also a pencil artist (depends on who you talk to about whether or not that's worth mentioning) so I like the Da Vinci reference but am willing to open it up to everybody to help me with a new name.

Luckily Lady de Laney corrected me on my first attempt before I threw it out here for everybody to see  ;).  If the majority likes Master Da Vinci then I am more than happy with that but am open to any names you all might come up with.

Thanks for the input

Master DaVinci would fit you well, Skip.  Now you need to go into overdrive on a garb ensemble to match!

A suggestion:  If you wish to be approximately period correct, an artisan of your stature would wear something similar to what Professor Loquacious wears.

I like it.

You may want to think of a first name that isn't Leonardo so you aren't trapped into answering questions about his inventions. Like....maybe Thomas, or Bernard. And be Leo's little brother, the lesser known, but equally talented, DaVinci. Could be a lot of fun...
