I won't be old until next year. Once I hit 35, I'll be ancient...

Uhhh... I take exception to that remark!!!  As long lived as my family is (my grandpa just celebrated his 97th b-day last Wednesday, and is still going strong), I have a very long way to go before I get to "old"... and just because they let you children post in here doesn't mean you can run around calling the rest of us NAMES!!!

Now...

GET OFF MY LAWN!!!
Aaaaahahahahahaha!!!

Neener neener!    ;)   Oh, and congrats to your grandpa.  Anyone who makes it to 97 and still in good shape is an exceptional person!

Rani, it's neat to hear that he's doing well at 97.  Has he been to Faire with you and your daughter?  Bring him along this season.   ;D

One of my Dad's uncles finally gave up golf at 94 or 95, due to equilibrium issues (had trouble standing still, swinging the club, and hitting the ball on the hilly courses where he lived in Virginia).

Take Care,

Now, now Blue. Our daughter ASSURED us we were not old till we hit 40.

Now off to beat her with my cane...

David, my grandpa decided to finally give up his drivers license last year when he turned 96, since it expired then anyway... and we had to take the ladder away a couple of years ago because he wouldn't stop climbing up on the roof to clean the gutters!  He and my grandma (who passed on this March) moved in with my mom last fall, and her yard has never looked so gorgeous.  He plants all sorts of things, and tends them, even in this heat, and I think that, fishing and watching sports are what keeps him active and engaged.  I'm pretty sure he wouldn't enjoy Faire at all, though.  I've tried to explain it, and he just doesn't get the "notion" of grown people playing dress-up and pretend.  He's from a whole different world...

Blue, when I was a kid I was pretty much convinced that 30 was just... well, dead.  Or close enough, anyway!  It was amazing how that "old" mark keeps getting farther away the older I get, though...  I've decided that as long as I still picture myself as being young, then I will continue to be young, and no one can change that but me!  Some people are born old, and some never even pass puberty...  I'm happy to just float somewhere between!

I'm 29, but I already have so much silver hair that I have to regularly color my hair. I think it's the Native American blood. My father was almost totally silver by 40.

This would explain my chin and why it has decided to do its best Brad Pitt impersonation
On a long enough time line, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

David sounds like my Great Uncle Dick. Pretty much played golf every other day during his retirement. Sadly this year he went out, played a great round and passed away watching television after the round.

I think my Dad's uncle did marry his young (60 or 70 something) girlfriend, when he was in his 90's.   :D

It's getting closer!!!  I'm starting to get that panicky "I don't have enough time to get all this done" feeling already, and I don't even get to be there for opening...  ::)
