I want a new tent now, also!  Of course, I want a lot of things that I'm not gonna get, so I'll just have to live vicariously through Blue, I guess...  heheh

Did anyone ever get an updated aerial view of the campgrounds?  I just pulled the image from Google maps, and it appears that the NE road seems more prominent than in previous maps.  I created a grid-style map (a la mpullen) for my peeps for our trip on the second weekend.
It ain't the years, it's the mileage.

Oh No! No Peeps allowed at TRF. Foktop is watching! LOL.

Tis not the length of the staff- but the magick there in!

Is it wrong that I don't mind storms during faire season as it keeps tourists away? And when I say tourists I mean those who just come to look around, gawk and judge and not those who actually spend money.
On a long enough time line, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

oh you are far from the only one! remember Closing weekend a few years back where it was hellish? that was kinda my fave memory, cause 90% of what you saw int he lanes were people in garb... brings the magic, if you ask me...

I still think an 'in costume' discount would make a LOT of people garb for the first time- and thus, make the experience more memorable... and thus, turn newbies into RENNIES!

I work with 'danes, all day, every day. I know that percentage wise it's the 'danes spending their money at faire that keep the gates open. Does it hurt my feelings that they stay away in droves when the weather is bad? Not in the least.

Luck!!!  And clear skies!

I also enjoy seeing more garb in the lanes than mundane clothing, myself... although I know that ticket sales are a large part of a Faire's revenue.  It doesn't bother me much to see them all scurry for the gate at the first few drops of rain, though!  AFTER they've paid to keep the place open for the day, of course...  ;)  heheh

I'm wondering if I will feel the same way next month when I'm holding out my hat asking for tips after a performance, though...  :-\

Maybe I am just bent that way because of Maryland. Keeps the tourists away and lowers the dust up their walkways get when it's dry. Being maybe half the size of TRF when it's tourist heavy it gets real annoying real quick. Must be it since when I think about it I don't remeber having the same reaction on heavy TRF days as I have had in the past in Maryland.
