LOL  I think they were probably looking for the same ones you mentioned at first... although going looking for people you "hate" doesn't really seem to be a very pleasant passtime, to em.

I'm rather partial to drums, myself, although I prefer a tight circle of at least moderately sober players to the drunken free-for-all that I've heard can happen at the main fire.  30-40 "power drummers" all vying to set the rhythm is not my style, particularly if none of them want to play the same rhythm as any of the others...

Crash, are you one of the... raver's... by any chance?  You know, those folks who play very loud amplified music at night in the campgrounds...?  We've been looking to meet one, or more, of them for a while now, for a special little ceremony someone suggested a couple of years ago, but none of them have wandered into camp so far...  :D

I play music, but it isnt any louder than anything else being played all over the place, nothing like the 200db hair rock I had to suffer through until 5am year before last.

My play list has a wide variety of music, from synthpop to punk rock to folk. This will only be my 3rd year camping out there there and have read about these ravers people mention, which I have yet to see any. Maybe I am looking for what I remember a raver was in the 90's, some colorful kid on x with a pacifier playing 220+ bpm techno (fyi, all electronic music is not "techno"), but I am guessing you all have a different vision?

If I am not in garb and I need a label, I guess it would be deathrock.

I did have some guy and gal wonder into our campsite one night "looking for ravers because they hate them".  They heard some electronic music as they walked by and I guess they figured they would come give us crap or something. The music was Birmingham 6, an older industrial rock band. I am not sure what they originally planned on doing, but once the met us, hung out around the fire, listened to some more music, had a couple drinks, they realized we were in fact not ravers.

S'okay...we have it on video of us in full regala of glowsticks and necklaces bc...well, why not. We say death to the ravers as well, but wouldn't you know it, some came into our camp last year saying "I noticed the glow sticks man...what are you guys on?"........"Umm..beer and mountain dew?"

Several of German buddy do that, if the beer is cheap they will mix it with mt.dew to taste better. If that's what we are talking about here, lol.

I just... can't even imagine.  My drink of choice is cider, although I do like a snakebite once in a while... or something with rum and fruit juice.  The occasional vodka with fruit juice will work, although it's actually been several months since I've had any alcohol, at all.  I have most of a pint of some fairly decent vodka in the freezer, and it just sits there, hoping I'll have company one of these weekends who wants to drink it...  ::)

This is gonna be my first year camping at TRF--sounds like fun!

Listen for the sounds of the didgeridoo....that'll be me.....

I've got a homemade didge that I bring, as well, although I'm starting to think I'll never get the whole circular breathing thing down.  It would be really nice to have a smallish, private circle around a fire somewhere, that wasn't open to just every drunk in the campgrounds with an instrument to pound on...  10 or 15 people who are more interested in creating discernible rhythm are much more fun to play with than a hoard who all just want to lead.  Hmmm... maybe there needs to be a PLAN!

Mountain Dew and beer respectfully...not together...though I had a friend who drank Doc Tishner's with a Mt. Dew chaser.....

Uhm...what is "Blender Roulette?"

It's a new game we've come up with for camping... or any other Faire-folk type gathering!  Whoever controls the blender decides what goes in it, and if you're drinking then you hold out your glass and take what you get!  It's always yummy, so no worries there, but you're never guaranteed that you will be drinking only one type of alcohol during the course of the game, and you never know quite how strong it will be, either!

I have a whole list of ingredients that I will be bringing, though, and anyone is welcome to bring whatever they think will add interest to the mix...
