Was just wondering who was going to this and which days. I will make my first trip ever to this festival and was hoping to maybe meet up with friends or atleast get some tips on what to see what not to worry about, what to eat (haggis yum) what not to eat and such. Also tips on parking and such.

Thanks

Don't expect to actually get any Scottish food. Haggis? Good luck! The Highlands Ranch games are your best bet for that. Take your own lunch. It's near impossible to get any food. Looks like Albannach are going to be there this year. Can't miss them!! The jousting is great, too. I'll most likely just go to the evening concert, instead of the whole festival. I never really did like the Longs Peak festival much.

I did the haggis tasting at the highland games and loved it. But thanks for the tip on the food and such. I have heard about the jousting so want to see that. Haven't decided yet on what day we will go, wish i could afford the full weekend but since on wednesday i will be flying out of town don't have alot of cash to spend.

Saturday for Tom and I

There are three jousts. 1st and third are the better as they are actual jousts. 2nd joust is skills test.

The games can be fun, sadly they it is hard to see ot take photos through the chain link fence.

Seeing the dogs is fun but there always seem to ot be many there when we go. Opening act is a MUST withthe pipe bands and all. the dancing is interesting but to be gets old fast.

Never seen much o the pipe bands. And I avoid most music tents as they are crowded.

Food: I like the meat pies and also the BBQ they have up there. And you MUST Go get some scotch. We get it in the collector shot glasses and Tom as many of them. And the beer is always good as it is Harp and Guiness none of that Coors crap of faire. I swear if I ever had a faire, I'd get new belgium as a sponsor.

the living history area is a MUST see and a place to take some nice photos. Also the cannon and trebuche

Parking. Right across the steet but you will have to pay. Any place else and you may be walking a long ways.

be prepared for Hoot and for freezing cold weather.

Thank you DeLaney for the info.

I have already been looking at prices online where you can get tickets for $20 a person and Parking for $5 ahead a time. I also heard that you can park down the road at the information center and they have a bus that will take you up to the festival and dosn't cost.

You can, or you can walk. Last year I dropped Tom off there and went to our parking spot. he got cheap tickets at the visitors center and walked up. it's a nice walk if the waether is not bad.

I had a wonderful time at this and will be a must for me next year except i will fit in time to see some jousting. I did get to see the catapult hit nessy with a bowling ball. Oh bought a new kilt for clan MacFarlane which the two clans i am from are under so will have to wear it to faire or something. Hmm maybe the All Hallows Eve thing Baron wants to do at park meadows.

Of course did go into the rocky mountain national park and hiked up to alberta falls was beautiful and the leaves was just barely starting to change.

Take care all

I see they have poor Nessy strung up after taking a direct hit from the trebuchet on friday.
