You know that sometimes you hear of disreputable characters at Ren Faires ... well it seems that Valt may have come across a couple of them on Pirate Adventure Weekend.

Tell me about it!  Mine has a wooden sword that she thinks she's going to be swinging around, fighting anyone who offers, and I have news for her!  She wanted the $250 steel sword, but settled for the $10 one that she could actually play with, instead...    LOL

I usually have a Purple-Heart & Hickory long-dagger/short-sword on my belt, although I do sometimes carry my Damascus steel dagger instead.


Rani, I don't know if you saw my last post in the "Who? When? Where?" thread -
"Well, I've decided to come to TRF on Saturday, and I'll have my camera with me.  I definitely want to meet you and your Renlet, and I'll take some pictures of her wearing the Hat with Aiacha's favor.  Will you be at the gathering at the POW Pub?  What time is that gathering?"

I work until 11:30 PM on Friday night, and I'm about 1-1/2 hours away on the South-East side of Houston, but I'll try to get to TRF by around Gate Opening on Saturday morning.

Yes, I saw it, and replied.  We'll be at the meet-n-greet at the POW before the parade, along with most everyone else...    Not sure if we'll make cannon or not, though, since everyone in camp usually takes their time in the morning.  We'll be in before parade, though!

I will be calling my GPS (also known as Lish) to guide me once I hit Plantersville. I am hoping that will be around 1ish!!!

We call ours Lady Victoria...we set her to British English just for fun!

Ok, I'm packing now... so that means that, technically, Faire has already started for me, right?!?  Oh, wait... which thread is this, again?

But I can't sleep.
Brain won't turn off. Waaaaay too excited.

Wake up at 9, get the last of things packed post-shower, double check everything, make sure the roomies are okay for the weekend.
Fill up the gas tank, grab energy drinks pre-work.
Work 12-5.
Get off work and hit the road.
Hit minor traffic in Dallas.
Estimated arrival time- between 9 - 10 PM.

(I don't like speeding as much in the dark...hard to see the cops and once I'm on the road that takes me down to Anderson, there is a lot of potential for wildlife.)

Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait.

Aggghhhhh!  I'm so jealous!  I wanna go to TRF sooooo bad!  But we decided that our little munchkin is just too young to make such a long trip just yet.  Next year for sure though!
