Soooo sleepy...

Fluids (like water & chicken soup) and Rest are what your body needs to fight-off the bug and heal itself.  Sleep as much as you can ... and you will be well before Celtic Christmas at TRF.  :D

I always use the "Two Hat" method of getting rid of a cold:
1) Get a bottle of Jack Daniels
2) Hang a hat on the bed post
3) Sit up in bed and sip the Jack Daniels frequently, watching the hat carefully
4) When you see two hats, cap the Jack Daniels, lay back, pull the cover up, and go to sleep. You'll be fine the next day (or you won't give a damn).

This has just become my personal medical advise for everything.

I WISH I had some Nyquil... because I have all the symptoms on the Nyquil "list"... instead, I'm taking a "cocktail" mixture of ibuprofen, Vicks "Chesty Cough" (because... well, never mind :P ), Mucinex, and Halls cherry cough drops... because that's what's in the medicine chest, and I can't afford the "good" stuff right now.  Oh, hot tea and chicken flavored ramen seem to help, also...

Not too sure about the "Two Hat" method, though.  I think I'll let Rapier try it out first, and see how it works for him.  ;)

I'm going back to bed...

If you can stomach it!  I'm kind of a spice wimp... so peppers of any sort really just hurt me.  Some people don't lose as many taste buds growing up as others, and tastes and smells can be really overpowering to me sometimes.  The smells are usually the worst, though...  I can smell EVERYthing, all the time (well, except right now, of course)...  :-\

I know jalapenos DO clear the sinuses, though!  My dad loved them, and he could eat the whole large jar before we got home from the grocery store...  LOL

Nyquil no longer contains pseudoephedrine. The phenylephrine that is supposed to be the new decongestant has been shown to be about as effective as a placebo in independent studies. If you have some basic allergy medicine like sudafed, that will clear you up better than nyquil anyway.

I have some Alavert with loratadine for the sinus congestion, and the Vicks has dextromethorphan for cough and guaifenesin as an expectorant, the Mucinex D also has guaifenesin AND phenylephrine, the ibuprofen is handling the fever, and the Halls has those lovely mentho-lyptus fumes to help clear my head...

See?  It really IS a "cocktail"...  :P  And with all that in my stomach I'm not even hungry!  ::)  heheh

Kinda sleepy, though...

OTC drugs no longer contain anything that might be confused with effective. It's better for the profit margine that way. If you want to feel better, you're on your own. If you want to throw money at the drug companies, I'm sure they will appreciate the donations.

Personally, I think I started getting better as soon as I put that Halls cough drop in my mouth...  ;)
