I too bought the Director's cut of 'Robin Hood'. It's a much better film with scenes that were cut from the Theatrical version. There's more "meat" to the story.

I may be getting a little off track but it is nearly winter now & the boards are not quite as active.

Morgan Dreadlocke mentioned Robin Hood's price on blue ray.  Is anyone buying blue ray movies?  They are not selling very well in Oklahoma.  Their sections at stores & rental places are really small.  I figure that people have large collections of regular dvd's & don't want to spend scads more money replacing what they have & buying expensive machines.  I don't know of any friends or relatives who have blue ray players.  I wonder if it will go the way of the beta max tapes from the early 80's.

Were I a betting man I would say yeah they are probably doomed.  DVD is cheaper and the clarity I dont believe is that much better.  IMHO.

I think its a toss up. My tech loving husband and brother in law both bought blue-rays when the version came out with bugs fixed. So all our newest movies are in blue ray. And I notice a lot more detail.

I don't have an HDTV so blue ray would be wasted on me. When my current TV dies, I will probably upgrade but in the mean time, I'm doing just fine with DVDs.

I just watched it this weekend. I thought it was a great movie, granted they took some licence with some stuff but it was still a good take on the legend.

And I thought I heard one of the vocalists from Great Big Sea in it. Did I hear right?

We finally got a chance to watch this last week. Rather surprised at the variations on the legends that we were used to, but thought it was a pretty good film.
