It's tapering off...looking at the radar, it should be ending here soon. It's a decent snow for these parts...looks to be close to 6 inches. Time to put on the crampons and take Denali for a walk.  I live on a very steep hill...the crampons are necessary so that I don't break my freakin' neck.

Nim and I are normally in touch via IM, Rani, but that's not conducive to snuggling and playing smacky-face.

Of course it's not, Merlin, but it's better than homing pigeon!  ;)

DonaC, I hope you and the Don are not having to drive it that!!!  If so, then be careful, and try to stay warm!

Well, it's all most 9 p.m. and were still getting snow, we got about 7 inches on the ground now here in Forrest City Arkansas. And it is some kind of cold out side.

I'm just glad I'm not in NW Ark...some spots up there got 25 inches. I don't remember that much snow in a single snowfall around here before.  Maumelle/Little Rock area has 6+, and I'm not sure what Conway got (where i work), but still snowing some here in Maumelle and in Conway. The campus is closed for tomorrow, too.  Certainly nothing moving around here! The dogs are sure loving it!

On the radio here in Houston this morning, they were saying that areas of Oklahoma and Arkansas had received more than 24" of snow.

Rani, are you part of the movement they mentioned ... to change the state's name to Snowklahoma?   ;)   ;D

According to news reports I saw last night, OKC got about the same as what we got in central Arkansas...between 5-6.  The huge amounts of snow were in the extreme NW part of Arkansas, which is mostly upper elevation in the Boston and Ozark mountains.

Not me... although I got a bit of a kick out of Gary England calling the first storm to hit... Snowpocalypse...   :D  We didn't get as much this time as we did in the first round, though.  Only about 3 inches or so here at our place, I think.  I know the northern parts of the state were hit really hard, though.

Of course, next week it's supposed to be in the 70's, and this will all just be another weather story... but this will be really good for the land.

Since I grew up in Little Rock, I have friends who still live in Arkansas.  One of them posted a link to this video today:

let me share with you a little story of donuts and arkansas.  in the late 70's I was managing a pizza hut in wynne arkansas, just across the street was wal-mart.  it had been snowing for several hours and had about 3 to 4 inches of snow on the ground, around 2 am I noticed headlights going around and around in the wal-mart parking lot.  there were no other cars around and none parked on the wal-mart parking lot so this guy was just having the time of his life.  after a few minutes and many circles later I guess he got a little over confident and lost his bearings, came out his last loop and found the only light pole in the middle of the parking lot.  that car sure looked funny sitting there with both of it's headlight looking at each other from around the pole.
