Oh, if you've never been to an early morning tailgate then you've got a real treat coming!  Just be aware that someone may ask you to help them with their laces while you're trying to get a bit of vino and pastry into yourself before you go in through the gates!    It's always nice when people show up with something to share, also... whether it's a box of doughnuts or a flask of something particularly yummy!

Cinnamon is a pretty strong flavor, so I would recommend a dry Rose like Wine of Anjou, or a fruity red like Sangre de Toro.

Most of us here would never do so anywhere buy Faire, either.  It can be fun to have a nip or two before going in the gate, and then run around like mad greeting everyone, getting our various morning goodies, seeing an early show and generally working off whatever it was we drank at morning tailgate... before finding the pub and filling our tankards!    Personally, since I can seldom afford the pub prices for more than one cider a day, a bit in the morning and whatever I can fit into a small flask is usually all I'll have during a day at Faire, so I seldom have to worry about over-indulging.  I'm usually more concerned with figuring out where the water fountains are so that my mug is seldom empty...

We are so pumped for this trip! In fact, we're pumped up for this season. So much so, in fact, that we wanted to make sure that our traveling would be in comfort. Yesterday, we went "just to look." Well, now we can look any time we want, because it's parked in the garage. Now, if the boss doesn't give me that raise, Nim & I are on bread & water for the next 5 years...

Beckgam462, visitation of Al before a certain time is kind of dependent upon one's schedule. My day starts at 4 am, ends around 8pm (during work week) so I adjust. But Rani is right as Rain (which you will notice is an anagram...) Rules are different for faire, with the only exceptions being those who are Allergic to Alcohol (AA). By Royal Decree, they shall be exempt from shooters, goblets of wine, et al, and shall instead receive our support to aid in their quest for recovery...
