Oh, the wisearsed remarks THAT statement inspired :D

Ahhh, shall we prove how gentlemanly we can be, or how roguish we would like to be....that is the question! ;) :-* :P

Just telling the significant other last night that I was in dire need of a roguish fix to get rid of some of life's little twists recently thrown my way. (IE: Father passing a couple of weeks ago, fighting a long-term health issue, pain-in-the-arse boss issues, etc).

Anyway, think we may try to drive over to Sherwood either this or next weekend and become the proverbial dirtyrottenscoundrel-type rogue....err gentleman....or whatever for a day.......... :P ;D

To prevent this thread from passing into morbidity due to inattention of our beloved readers, I shall endeavor to keep it alive!

....blarghwaffles, I got nothing... Fraser? Rani? Anyone?

The joys of working 60-72 hours a week, buying a new house (well, port-a-house, but manufactured or not its still a home) and doing renovations, and having an 11 month old fearless, stubborn and hyperactive daughter who can get into trouble in 3.1 nanoseconds.... I have no brains left.

*drools and stares blankly at wall*

Oh, update: We will be at Sherwood the weekend of the 19th, and due in large part to the Firkin crowd, we will pop out to TRF for one weekend, just not sure which one yet.

I'm just happily playing with my new phone today... and trying to convince it that it is, in fact, NOT smarter than I am!  (I may be losing, though...)  ::)  :D

I think Fraser might be buried under a rather large pile of pipe, at the moment...  :o

Seems the forums as a whole have been very quiet as of late. Naturally, now that I actually have some time to peruse......<sighs to self>.

Rani - when you figure the phone out, would you mind telling my techno-challenged darling that it really is NOT a product of the devil destined to take over our minds and lives, and that it IS okay to take the plunge past her 5 year old flip top basic phone? Good Grief, the woman had over 300 texts last month and she still uses an old style phone pad!!!! :o :o ::)

How goes the construction...or dare I ask?

Breandan - I still need to make the Firkin one of these Tuesday nights to meet that crowd. 11 month old daughter, eh? Yep, I hear drooling can be good for the soul.......

I may be the only person left in the industrialized world that does not/will not carry a cell phone...

Well... if I believed in teh Devil... I might just agree with her.  :D  Still... it's continuing to be lots of fun figuring it all out, and I'm having a ball downloading lots and lots of free music!  Making my own ringtones is fun, also, and I can even check R/F and facebook on my phone, as well!  LOL  It's definitely a fun new toy, and I have the feeling it's going to provide plenty of distraction for at least the next few weeks!  There are some specific apps I want to load on it, and LOTS of others to explore, as well...  ::)

Uhhh... might be best not to discuss the construction here, since the forum is set to auto-censor certain words, and everything I would say would just end up sounding like gibberish, anyway!  (not necessarily any different from usual, however...)  ::)  :D  I have no working light in my kitchen at the moment, making cooking rather difficult, but hey, I have a new phone, instead, right?  In fact. the two things are directly related...

Merlin - normally I would be right there with you, but unfortunately my job with an international corporation requires 24/7 availability. With the crackberry they can call or email any time. And believe me, they do!!! :-\ ;)

Don't worry Rani, this too shall pass...sort of like a case of bad gas. :P :D We'll keep out figers crossed they get it right in the end. Then again you could just figure out how to move back to CO and be done with it. ;)

Rani Zemirah

I'm working on that one... believe me!  Of course, just being back there (or anywhere away from here) doesn't necessarily mean all will be sunshine and roses... but at least it probably wouldn't sound like the ceiling was going to fall on my head at any moment!!!  Oh, and now they are throwing the kitchen cabinets from upstairs down over the balcony railing!!!  :o  Guess I won't bother sweeping the porch today...  ::)

If I could afford it, I'd be out of here today!!!  I've been fondly recalling the year I spent in a tent up in the mountains... and realizing how very much I need to be outside again.

I stay pretty well connected via email. But, it has always been one of my personal rules that I will never work for a company that requires me to carry a pager (I've been in the work force a while) or a cell phone. When I travel, I have a tablet for maintaining contact, but they know that I may or may not be immediately returning messages.  I demand to have a life outside of work. My current job, there really isn't such thing as an emergency, even thought they sometimes think so.

Don't kid yourself... a tablet is just a more advanced cell phone that doesn't make calls...  I saw one the other day at the Sprint store that would do everything BUT make calls, and they wanted $500 for it without a service contract!!!  :o

The tablet I have was supplied by my department. I told them I didn't need/want one, but they made me take one anyway. This is a tablet computer, not like an iPad or such. I think they paid over $2k for it...the ONLY thing I use it for is email when traveling, and games when I'm not. Such a waste...
