You're definitely missed around here!  :)  Things still at DefCon 4 around there, I guess?

As close as possible without running for the fallout shelter.  I may be headed to Edmondton, for a couple of weeks, after I'm done with this location...

I'll respond to everyone when the IT guys aren't looking. ;)

Edmondton... Alberta?  As in Canada?!?  :o  You know it's still WINTER up there, right?!?  And likely to stay that way for another couple of months...

Now see, with an Android smartphone you could jump online every once in a while without really being noticed...  ;)  heheh

I second Rani...Edmonton, Alberta?! I was just in Calgary two weeks ago and the high was -20 and the low was -35. Fahrenheit. Edmonton is further north than Calgary, for the Canadian-geographically-challanged. Brrrrrrrr! Pack your warm skivvies!

For the record, -20 F will freeze about 10 ounces of beer into a very nice slushie drink in 15 minutes! Recommended that you take it INSIDE to drink at that point.

Rani Zemirah

Eeewwww... beer slushie?!?   :-X  Sorry, just not a beer fan, period, and frozen beer just sounds... wrong!  :-\

Now a nice frozen mudslide I can handle!  ;)  heheh  Or really, frozen ANYthing with booze in it...  (except beer) :D

you know it's bad when you have to take a blowtorch with you, to melt the ice off a joint of pipe, so you can read it's serial number...  :D

Oh, geez... ok, that might even be a little too cold for me, and I don't really mind the cold so much!  That's enough to freeze vulnerable bits and pieces right OFF, and I'm kinda partial to my fingers and toes...  :o

I do really like Canada, though.  The people are all soooo nice, and it's just beautiful up there...  Been wanting to get back up there for years.  I've only been through Edmonton once, and I didn't get to spend any time there, but I do recall it being really pretty.  Hopefully you'll get to actually see some of it if you go, instead of being chained to the racks...  ;)

Nah... it's when it freezes mid-stream (and all the way up) that it's REALLY cold...  :o  :D

Not really sure why anyone would make that particular decision when it's cold enough out to endanger fingers and toes, though...  ::)  :D

One of my field techs lives in SD and when he told me a couple of weeks ago that the high for the day was -21(actual, not with windchill!!), I decided then and there to just stay in Houston and enjoy the 65 deg weather we were seeing that day. Yeppers, saw enough ice & cold in western KS over 20 years to last me several lifetimes. :P

Merlin the Elder

Having been in Houston on numerous occasions when the in-laws lived there, I'd rather live in SD...really. I can take bitter cold a lot easier than I can take hell.

Don't worry, radiation sickness is coming to a town near you!  :o Everyone eat their salt...

Yeah... I've been wondering about the high atmosphere uptake the last few days... and the prevailing wind currents.  It being spring, and raining frequently... well, I'm sure we'll be having some interesting looking things popping up in our gardens this year.  Not to mention everywhere else...  :-\

Wonder what the premium rates are for radiation insurance?
