Just a few hours more than 2 weeks until opening cannon!  Huzzah!

I would like to propose another opening day meet and greet.  I have been informed it occured at the Dirty Duck last year.  If it is pleasing with all, I suggest it take place there again this year following the parade.  The Dirty Duck is located right next to the FOF booth, closest to the Chess Field.

I look forward to seeing everyone soon!  :)

See you there! Sidekick marches with the QOH (the Scots in the parade) so his presence is iffy right afterwards, but I'll try to be there!

Will see about getting there.  It is tough if it is right after parade for sure.

Just an inquiry...The Dirty Duck is right about where the parade ends. As I am normally elsewhere in the shire for the parade, I don't know...is there something else that goes on right afterward that ties up the Scots (and I'm not speaking of the fetishes of the Scottish women)?

I wont be there Saturday so i should keep out of this...however... being one who marches in the parade and knowing this faire like the back my hand...
I tell you this...
The Scots are required to convene back at the Scottish Village area (near the falcon show) for a "fall-out" and returning of the borrowed weapons.
So those who wish to make a Meet and Greet.... please be patient for those who march. I've shown up there to only find a few and hear that "everyone left already".

Can't wait to see my dad on Sunday.... been a long time... like 2 perhaps 300 years.

And there you have it, Merlin the Younger has nailed down what takes the Scots in parade a we bit longer to get somewhere.  I missed more than one meet and greet last year because of this. LOL  There will always be others though.  ;D

I will be more than happy to hang around and listen to the guys squeezing those noisy bags with the pipes sticking out nearby... see you there, laddies!

If any of the Scots (or anyone else) has a suggestion as to a better meeting spot, please feel free to share!  :)

My only suggestion is give us Scots who march a little more time or set the time to meet 30min after the parade, maybe.

OK, lets go with that, then.  Meet and greet will be held a half hour after the parade (can anyone tell us when the parade starts?)  That way people can watch from wherever and still mosey on over, and the Scots will be able to join us as well  :)

(is it time for opening cannon, yet????)

Sounds good! I'm looking forward to it. :)

SirRichardBear

schedule shows the parade at 1pm as normal.  The festial map shows the parade starting and finishing at the same places as last year.
