Opening Saturday Meet and Greet

OK, lets go with that, then.  Meet and greet will be held a half hour after the parade (can anyone tell us when the parade starts?)  That way people can watch from wherever and still mosey on over, and the Scots will be able to join us as well 

(is it time for opening cannon, yet?)

The parade starts at one.  You can hear the cannon sound, that is the signal for the folks in the parade to begin.  It takes about 25 minutes or so to wind its way from the Elephant Keep to the Chess Board.  Post Parade Proclamation starts at 1:30 and runs for 15 to 30 minutes.  The Scots head straight back to the Cottage after the parade goes past them, and they have to turn in weaponry and the like before heading down, so they probably get down to the Meet 'n Greet at about the time that Post Parade Proc is winding up.  Sometime between 1:45 and 2:00 would be my guess.  If it is hot out, give them more time as they'll want to get some water at the Cottage, probably.

We'll try to make it, we forgot last year and missed it. 30 minutes after the parade sounds good, or setting it at 2:00 might give everyone plenty of time to get there and a set time to be there. The end of the parade and proclamation can take a bit but is always finished by 2. Either way, we'll try to get over and meet everyone.

One question. I'm a musician, so I don't dance. Is the Dirty Duck anything like the Funky Chicken?

Well it seems that the post parade meet & greet went the way of the dodo bird. I think that the problem stems from the fact that so many R/Fers march in the parade that they can't all make it back to the Dirty Duck before the few non-marchers wander off.
