I have been hearing that the Ship Stage has to be tore down and removed by July. I was out there on last Sunday and the mining is pretty much up to it now.

After my first visit to MNRF  back in the mid-90's, the most distinctive memory I had of the Faire was the really cool Ship Stage --- sad to hear it's being torn down.

I thought someone on here mentioned that MNRF signed a new multi-year lease with the gravel company last year, to continue operating on the current site.  They didn't say anything about the Faire being made smaller (hope they got reduced lease rates).

The new lease that they signed 2.or 3 years ago was for 15 years. At the Master Crafters Dinner last year the told us that they were hoping to preserve the Legend Stage, but suggested it might have to be moved or replaced.

It's probably not that the site is getting smaller (yet), it's more that the rock blasting is taking place mere yards away from a structure that probably isn't very stable to begin with. I was in my booth once when they blasted, I can imagine the vibration the ship is getting.

Gotta remember it's also the stage for the main "headliners" Puke & Snot so they won't want patrons to have to hunt for them in a new location

My most recent understanding is that the mining has gone as far into the parking lot as it's going to go for the time being and that the stage is not going to be moved or destroyed...for the time being.

But we all know how unreliable any information is until it's actually happened though.

I predict that nothing will happen until the 2nd week of fest, at which point it the vibrations will cause the stage to slip its moorings, sail to the end of the parking lot and embed itself in the 'grove' that is there.  At which point, hastily hand written signs (made with colored sharpies) will point from where the stage was to where the stage is, and the show continues without interruption.

One of our group was just out there. He said that it had been moved to the part of the parking lot where they have had the Special Events Field set up. (behind the dungeon)

Yeah, it's been a bit surprising how late in the summer they have started replacing out-of-code food booths in the last couple years.

Jac the campground director just posted on Facebook:
QuoteDespite rumors to the contrary, the Legend Stage has not moved.

I suppose the changed view caused by the continuing excavations may have distorted things for whoever thought it had been moved

If you read what I posted I said that I was told that it had to be moved by June or July, The blasting had moved further than it was last year from what I had seen. :(

Someone else posted that a friend noticed it had actually been moved:
