Let The Countdown Begin!

I'm planning my first trip to TRF. Is All Hallow's Eve weekend definitely the best to go? Or do you guys have another favorite that I should try to check out? I'm incredibly excited

I would have to say in a word... "YES".  All the nutjobs, fruitcakes and head cases come out of the woodwork that weekend.


*example... I'll be there, in full glory, from Thursday afternoon til late Sunday*  


The Big 3(Opening, AHE, & Closing) are the best to get a real taste of TRF but if you want wild, AHE is the perfect time to come.

Balletboot, the biggest party weekend is AHE, and if you're staying in the campground it can get pretty crazy in some places.  I hope you'll be bringing friends or family with you, at least, because it's a rather large venue to just wander into, and it's much better experienced in company!  Although I'm sure by then you will have some friends here you can hang with if you'd like!  We're a pretty friendly bunch...  

(and while these guys in here can make great sport of each other {and themselves} on occasion... they are actually all pretty awesome to have on your side when it counts!)

I'd love to make it out for AHE, but it will probably never happen. My anniversary is Oct31 and we are always out of town the weekend prior to and after Halloween.

If Fraser shows up nekid, then I have to go nekid, and while I know some may approve of this *coughRanicough*, others will not. I am so pale I can land aircraft and warn ships off from a reef by shining a flashlight on my chest. People will be blinded, others will be horrified

But Breandan, that's what the spray on tans are for!  You're even allowed to tan EVERYTHING!!!    

And, uhhh... who said I approved of either you OR Fraser showing up nekid (or anyone else, for that matter)?!?  Kilted will do just fine, thankyouverymuch!!!  I like to have something to stimulate the imagination...      

Oh, well... I do know of a good hill there in the campground, so if you guys insist on showing up nekid, then I hope you'll at least have the decency to paint yourselves blue and run down it screaming and brandishing your claymores!!!  I'll make sure to bring the lawn chairs... and cameras.    


(perhaps it should be noted, however, that balletboot's profile lists her age as a very tender 17 years... so perhaps nekid woad painted warriors is a topic best left for another conversation...?)

I looked into my schedule and it seems that first weekend will work out much better logistically -- have to save AHE for another year. Might be a little less of a shock too haha. 
But I guess I'll have to miss naked painted warriors this go around.

(well, I will say that I've never actually seen any nekid painted warriors during AHE... so I'm betting these guys talk a better game than they actually play...)   


OPening is an awesome weekend, from what I understand!  I've never actually been able to make it down there for it, but the pics always look like everyone had a great time!

All of us R/F'ers try to meet up at the Prince of Wales pub, BB, just before the Death March (aka, parade), unless we have members doing the chainmaille show.  We can all see each other at any point in time but we'll forgo that to see one our people in nothing but chain & skin... we'll either be jeering them or trying to put our tongues back in our mouths.    Come on down, and we'll show you around.  53 acres is pretty big when you are new to the place.

I have yet to make it to Opening Day (I hope to make it this year!) but AHE is always a good time-that and Closing Weekend.
