And that's a huge part of the reason that I think celebration is unwarranted here.  But, by "that chapter" I meant the continuing search for bin Laden, and not, by any means, the end of the "War on Terror".  That will never be allowed to end, since it's such a money maker for so many people.  And it's so easy to keep it going by creating more and more "martyrs"... I mean, all that has to be done is set up some psychologically unstable warlord as a dictator, let him commit atrocity after atrocity for a decade or two while fueling his hatred of his initial benefactors and then decide it's time to move in and fix the "problem"...   Profits for everyone!

From the begining we have been dealing with blow-back. It's how they are, it's how they think. Anyone starts crap with them and they will forever play the dominoe game. They have no regard for life or personal liberty. There is no negotiating with them, because they only think in terms of winning or dying. There is no in between with them. This isn't going to end peacefully or cleanly for either side.

I think I might get the stink eye if I used those.  One of these days I shall have my own range, or at least enough land to plink a couple hundred rounds in private.

Public ranges are driving me nuts. Last time I was out, range was hot and I see in my peripheral this idiot bee bopping downrange with a target in his hand, while people on BOTH sides of him are shooting. Now in some situations thats not a big deal, but in public, where you have armchair commandos with 7k dollar ar-15's with every possible device on the rails that cant hit the 50 yard target on their own lane, but no trouble hitting mine 3 lanes down....yeah...
