I had targets at 50 and 100, got them set up, when back waiting for the range to clear go hot. I fired 3 rounds at 50 and 3 rounds at 100. When cease fire is called, I walked out to see no less that 20 holes all over EACH target....

I asked the guys on both sides to make sure they are firing on the lane MARKED with the lane number they are on and got the "ok"

Repeat this 3 or 4 time.

I get pissed and go home.

Of course, you DO live in TX, and, lets face it, you don't even pretend to look like the average redneck... maybe it's not bad aim so much as it is... poor sportsmanship.

Whew... that was close!  Almost did a little ripping of our own, just then!

Well, I now have a refrigerator door with a new seal on it, almost 2 weeks after they were supposed to fix it... but it doesn't seal the door!  It actually lets the cold air OUT instead of keeping it IN!!!    So now the head maintenance guy has to come over and look at it, and try and figure out what to do about it... (that doesn't involve giving me a NEW fridge, anyway...)    It's an old piece of crap, and NEEDS to be replaced! 


And I had just laid down to try and rest a bit when the doorbell rang...

Crash, I know what you're saying. It's fascinating to see the targets at the local range when these bozos get through with them.

I learned to shoot pistol NRA bulls eye competition style—one hand—by my dad who shot as a Master class in the military and then as a civilian. (He always said "It's a handgun, not a hands gun"). When my dad died, I ended up with the one competition gun that he kept when he stopped competing. Here in the past year, I've gotten back into shooting, after a 25-year lapse.

My son has taken up the sport as well, and we were at the range around Christmas. We're both shooting—one-handed—and shooting okay for someone that hadn't been shooting for a while, and a newbie...we're staying in the black.  In most of the other lanes, these guys are popping off rounds (at 12 yard targets) with the guns they're licensed to carry, maybe hitting the black about 20% of the time—two-handed combat stance.  ...and people get upset with me because I object to everybody and their dog getting carry permits, and laws being changed so they can carry into little league ball parks and churches, when these people couldn't hit their arse with both hands.

For my own benefit...why are we discussing this in the "Let the Countdown Begin" thread? We expecting trouble?

This is the only countdown that has lasted more than one season (approaching 3 seasons, now), and we have to have something to talk about while we're waiting to get under 100 days...    We talk about everything in here...
