Mouse....McLot is the only camp you need to visit my friend, if you now what your doing  :o ;) ;D   Well be even bigger this year!

But it is not just all hollows, it is opening and closing as well  ;)

All are welcome anytime, whether you are a member of McLot or not.

Mouse:It's occurred to me I have never visited any other camp other than McLotofus...I should rectify this.

Except that camp on Row 0 or so where the guy offered me EverCrown and Coke...:

I've been to McLot before..I meant it as I haven't visited any of the other camps....

LOL  I think he was telling you that McLot is the only camp you EVER need to visit...  ::)  :P

But that would mean you could never witness the naked slip-n-slide... and since we all know that this is your ultimate and overwhelming ambition, I'm guessing there will be walkabouts in your future.  ;)  :D

LOL  you're on it Rani!!!

btw - why haven't you been at Scarby so far this season?

Because I don't have the money to pay $175 just in gas to get us down there and back, plus hotel, food and booze for a whole weekend...  :'(  I even have a couple of tickets that I'm probably going to have to sell.  (sigh)

Well...I could help you with booze  ;)

LOL  Oh, I'm sure the booze would be the least of my problems!  It's the gas and hotel that are out of reach, particularly this month, when half my 6 month car insurance payment is due, AND the car tag, as well...  >:(

Do you not reside in the grand state of Oklahoma?

I thought everything was free in the OK.... ;) ;D

Uhhh... when was the last time you were here?  Because, as far as I know... and I was born here, mind you... that has never been the case.  And with gas now at $3.97 a gallon, well, 500 mile round trips are just out of reach right now.

I'll be lucky if I can manage to scrape up enough to make it down to TRF this year... and if there's got to be a choice, well... there is no choice to be made.  I love Scarby, but TRF is more like Home to me than any other Faire I've ever been to, and I get to see FAR more people I care about there than I would at Scarby... just because more of them live down that direction!

Funny....your closer to Scarby and choose TRF.  A testament to what a great faire TRF is. Sherwood is not much different from TRF, same feeling, same vibe, same atmosphere, only closer as the fair is smaller...the party and good times with friends don't end when the fair gates close...like it does at Scarby.

Imagine Scarby with camping  :o

btw - half of my family are....hmmm OKIES!

I would love to be able to camp at Scarby... that would be sweet!  Not that I mind relaxing by a pool in the evening, though...

I understand they'll let almost anyone live here, these days...  ;)  :P  LOL  If I could handle the summers down there, I'd live near Houston, myself... but I think that topic has been covered several times...  heheh

Do you think 93 in the shade is hot?

I think 80 in the shade is hot!!!  I have a built in sensitivity to heat, and I become physically ill when my core temperature goes up even slightly.  My normal body temperature is only around 97.3, and by the time it gets up to what's "normal" for everyone else, I'm ready to hurl in the bushes... which is why I sooo love all the shade at TRF!  I'm often to be found making my way from shady bench to shady bench in the afternoon heat, and begging for ice and pickle juice from vendors.  I hardly even drink alcohol during the day at Faire, unless it's chilly out... unless it's a single frosty cider early in the day... but the rest of the day is spent making sure I'm within reach of the water fountains!

Hmmm, half a dozen extra large pillows... some oil lamps...  a couple more carpets... Laird's banner... Honda generator... pair of tent heaters... new fire pit... new grill (AHE beat up my old camp grill, last year)... sound system is covered...  Loki brewing starts in 3 weeks.  You think 8-10 gallons will be enough? ;)

I'm not one for one upmanship, so be my guest.  :D  I've got better things to do with my time...  ;D

this year's TRF is going to be very, very weird for me. This will be the first year I will be attending as a patron in 20 years, and I have no idea what we're going to do. We're definately making it out AHE, possibly opening and closing, not sure yet, but we've been staying inside the faire for so long I don't have a clue what its like to camp as a patron these days, nor any idea where we'll be camping if at all. Gah, feels like renewed faire virginity ;)

Are you going to grace TRF with a book signing?
