And I'm guessing there's a huge difference between tolerating it... and enjoying it!  I know people who live in Michigan who say they would like nothing more than to move somewhere that it never snows, and it would be fine with them if it was 95 degrees all the time... but seriously, how many of them have ever spent more than a week or so anywhere where it WAS 95 degrees ALL the time?  I mean, sure, when you've got 8 feet of snow outside your back door, "hot as hell" sounds pretty darn good... but months of it at a time is a bit different.

Of course, 95 in TX or OK is a whole lot different than 95 in CO... and I'll take the dry heat anytime!

Haven't we all heard, "It's not the heat, it's the humidity..."?   ;)   ;D

I know I preferred the higher air temperatures when I lived in North Texas over the higher humidity where I live now in Houston.

Hi WarCat!

I'm splendid. That is all.

I think this might be the only year where it was about the low 80's for my birthday. This past weekend was so awesome because of it. Of course with it being hot 364.5 days out of the year, it's something to definitely get used to. It's all about Fall weather for me. When I think of Fall, I automatically think about faire. The smell of cigarette smoke gets me thinking about faire, too... How strange. lol

Oh... well, I can do without that particular smell, thanks!   :-X  And last year it was downright COLD several times during Celtic Christmas, so I know it's not hot down there ALL the time!  I actually loved it that weekend, and AHE was nice and chilly, as well!  I love that crisp feel to the air, and the smell of hot cider and baking bread... and woodsmoke.  It's also nice to be able to wear more of my garb than just the bare minimum, and to actually be thankful for all the layers...  :D

I'm interested to hear if Grandmama will be back this year, as well!  Scally just loved her, and her lane bits were hilarious!!!  We wanted to get a look at the leeches, also...

Though I am not a smoker, nor is my husband, the smell does take us back for some odd reason. The woodsmoke smell is nice too.... How many more months again?!? lol

I like having time with my daughter, and the lack of alarm clock, but I'd rather have that time when it's cooler outside, and I actually feel like getting out and doing things!  Unless there's a pool, lake or ocean involved, of course!!!  ;)  Then I don't mind the heat so much...

Exactly! I like sleeping in (even though I rarely do) and hanging out by the water, but I think that might be the extent of it! lol

Nah... I need to be IN the water!  At least, if I'm going to enjoy the heat, anyway...  I don't lay out to try and tan, and if I'm going to be in the boat I need like, SPF10,000 or I just get... crispy!  bleh  But I can stay in the water and play for hours, and I love to swim!  Waterproof sunscreen is my friend...  ;)
