It's at the back of the little First Aid booth, right to the left of the gate as you go in, and it's something like a walk-in cooler, if I recall correctly.  I got to go in once when a friend came close to collapsing from heat exhaustion and dehydration, and they cooled her down right quick in there!  They also plied her with Gatorade, and may have even given her a salt tablet... I can't recall clearly.  I do remember that it was COLD in there, though!!!  They don't let just anyone in, either... just those who are in pretty serious shape, and they try not to open the door any more than they have to.

Yep, yesterday was rough.  I called it a day after the court dance around 5:30ish.   Thank goodness for the Gatorade in the FOF area.  I would have been in bad shape were it not for that.

Special HUZZAH to the cast for being in good cheer and form in full-garb all day!

Well, 5:30pm is pretty impressive considering the temperature. I saw that it hit 101°. Seems to me that last year, we gave out by 3...

Looks like you're having a "cooler" day today.

The PP and I were out Sunday.  We had fun but I ended up camped out side the Iceman's shop, and the armoury/ Scott camp with a wet towel around my neck, a bodice chiller, ice in my bandana on my head, and a fan.   After that I felt alot better, and was able to hang around for another hour before I had to call it quits.  Thankfully we had shop keepers who would let us take refuge where they had fans.  We were also able to get fresh ice at the first aid station.
I knew I was in for a hard day when with out thinking I drank 2 tankards of gatorade in less than 10 minutes.  I did that twice on Sunday.  When we left at 5:30 our car said it was 101 outside!
I really wanted to go yesterday but I just couldn't. The PP was nearly done in, and I just couldn't make myself step ouside into the heat.
As much as people griped about having a FOF pass. It paid for it's self many times over, for the simple fact of how much gatorade we drank this year, and how easy it was for us to drop extra garb at the car.
The only thing I would say for next year is to get 1-2 more FOF stations around faire. Just so we have more access to the gatorade and reserved shade.
Oh and next year, I WILL be getting a bigger tankard, there is no mistake about that!
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

Saturday we lasted until about 2:30- purposefully made an effort not to overdo it. The radio said it was 96 when we left.
Monday we lasted until 4:00 and the radio said it was 94. I made myself drink gatorade from the FOF booth in addition to the lime G2 that we brought with us. Yes, the FOF passes paid for themselves this year with water, ice, gatorade and a shady place to sit.

I made it to closing both Saturday and Sunday.... yeeehaaaaawww!

Did a lot of sitting and people watching on Sunday...lol which is one of our favorite things to do.

This year was my favorite year so far... Seeing Donna's smiling face in the mornings... having a mimosa and a breakfast somethingorother with Lady Kett and her weed puller... making many new friends with the Queens Own Highlanders ... getting to see some Houstonians was also a great treat!

I lost my brag-rag... it was found and returned YAY!

I lost my clan kilt pin.... gone forever... Boooo!

I found a piece of burlap strap...most likely someones peace tie.... YAY !

I bough yet another kilt.... Pride of Scotland... YAY !

I found the pattern needed for my wife to make me a doublet... YAY ! !

My family, the Ketterers, Tony and Cowgirl and my Dad Merlin are all going to Colorado for the Rendezvous  YAYAYAYAY ! ! !

Grrrrreat season! Can't wait to see more of you soon ! ! !

It was decidedly toasty this weekend, but wouldn't have missed it for the world!

Merlin, what exactly did you try to call Sidekick that it morphed into weed puller? LOL :)

I am assuming of course, that you didn't intend to call him that!

Merlin the Elder

Argh! You try to teach your children how to be polite and not call anyone names, then one of your sons goes and does that! I'll have to make him buy you an ale or two at RenDezvous, Lady Kett!

Merlin! My son! Embarrassing me again?  ;)  heheh! Sounds like you had a good time despite the heat. Colorado should be a little easier on us all...at least I'm hoping...

Made all three days till closing as things go closing weather was pretty normal.  We've had 110 and we've had a foot of rain and we've had 60mph winds.  nothing like that this weekend so was happy.

I also made it all 3 days cannon to cannon. I had hoped to wear my armour Monday, but I am not actually crazy. Getting to old to do that.

Congrats for making all 3 days C2C!  I did the same, but I really paid for it today, as I could barely function at work  ;)
