Well- I hope that means she will write more about Harry or any of the characters she introduced us to. They are old friends and I WANT MORE!

J.K. Rowling has already stated firmly (a few times) that she won't be writing anymore about Harry or Hogwarts.  :(  Sure hope she's changed her mind.

I've got really mixed feeling about the last movie.  I want to see it, but don't want it to end.
She did promise us an encyclopedia, though, so she better get on that.

And just fyi, in case you weren't aware, you click on the owls on pottermore.com to get to the countdown. Only 1 day, 5 hrs to go!

All I know is that I got my name in to be part of a group that is going to a private 7 PM showing of part 2 on THURSDAY before it opens.  It's hosted by a local comic book store.  Nothing like being in a whole movie theater that is full to the brim with your fellow Harry Potter fanatics.  And one of the few places you can go in costume and they won't bat an eye. :)
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

I am exceedingly jealous of you right now. I'm still trying to decide where to see it, since all my Harry Potter friends from the last movie will be 3000 miles away from me.

But really, if you're going to the midnight showing, no one bats an eye at you for dressing up anyway. Or at least, they didn't for the last movie, when we (and the rest of the people around us) went fully dressed up to Harry Potter World at Universal Studios, and then waited around City Walk until we could go line up in the theatre. I wish I was there for this one!

When you get to a certain age, midnight showings are no longer as much fun as they once were,  but a night before showing at the studio movie grill... makes for happy campers ;D.

Looking forward to D.H. part 2!

I do think that JK Rowling is making the right decision to retire Harry and Friends; that story arc has been told in all but the fanfic.  They fought, they won and they grew up.
It's a kids series and it would seem a bit selfish to try to high jack it just because the adult fans want to see more of Harry, Hermione, et al.

I can see JKR starting a new series in the future with (possible) multiple heros.  The original crew had plenty of kids, all, if not most of them gifted witches and wizards.
A new series would still have lots of opportunities for cameo appearances by the 'old folks', and it's also a perfect way to keep the series young for the next generation in a natural way, and an excellent 'money-spinner' for her should she need to write for a living in the future.

A little more info than her exceedingly vague (at least to me) video announcement can be found here:

I'm really looking forward to how much this sounds like an interactive online encyclopedia. And I certainly hope this proves to be the ultimate sorting hat. I can't wait!

What is it 6 days now?! I am so excited but slightly sad to see it end.

Is anyone dressing for the premiere?

sad to see the end of the movies too. I will wear Hogwarts robes- but not going to the opening. Nice to see the then and now pictures.
