I saw the movie this afternoon, in Imax 3D. A-MAZ-ING! And that's not just from the 3D and giant screen. This was an epic, wild, exhilerating end to the magical journey. I would have been stupendously happy with the film had I seen it in a regular old movie theater in 2D. Though, I will admit to feeling a little empty inside when the credits started rolling and I realized that this was the end. I'll add my voice to the call for tissues. I even got a little leaky a couple of time.

I saw it for the 2nd time today, in IMAX 3D this time. Strangely enough, the things that only sort of bothered me on my first viewing bothered me even more on the 2nd, so now I'm really not sure how I feel.

SPOILER!

Voldemort's death was what really got me. There was absolutely no reason to make it that stupid except that they wanted to have a "neat effect" for the 3D viewings. It was beyond stupid, and it made me hate that moment more than I ever hated Voldemort, because watching it in 3D vs 2D, you can completely see what they were going for. Lame. Movies should be more about plot and drama and emotion, rather than special effects. What is the world coming to?!

On the other hand, Snape's memory scene is just wonderfully beautiful, once again. I hear there are rumours buzzing about supporting actor noms, and I think I might agree. Alan Rickman really did that scene justice.

Alan Rickman was just AMAZING!!!!!!!  He definately deserves to win something.

The pensieve scene left me sobbing.  Rickman was beyond good and deserves awards, many, many awards.  The Nagini/Voldy death scenes were anticlimatic and robbed Neville of his well-deserved moment of bada$$ery.   It bugged me to no end that Voldedmort could feel the horcruxes being destroyed.

But it was a fine ending to a great series & I plan to see it again.  Team Snape!

Speaking of Snape, don't know if any of you have seen this catchy parody:

You're welcome, Taffy.  It took me a while to figure out what was up with the girl holding the stuffed owls.  Then it hit me that she was singing "Hoo".  Duh.  :)

We've been enjoying some of the wizard rock groups that have sprung up over the years since Harry and the Potters.  (Draco and the Malfoys, Remins and the Lupins, the Parselmouths, etc...) You have to weed through a bunch of poor to mediocre songs, but there are a few gems hidden in there.  Some of the lyrics are hilarious.

Quite possibly the most awesome I've seen in a long while!  ;D I figued out everyone but 2: the one in glasses next to Neville & the one in purple next to Prof. McGonagal.??? I want to say they're Luna's dad & Prof. Sprout but Idk for sure...
Why be mundane when you can be a Rennie?!

Queen Bonnie

Well done. Not sure I knew who everyone was either.
I saw the movie again in non 3D. I really did not see much difference. I enjoyed it as much both times! Sad it is over.

I think the purple witch was Professor Sprout.

I think I've figured out most of them, but who are the redhead in glasses and the silver-haired man in glasses?
