2012 Opening Weekend

Received our permanent FOF passes today!!! We may change our minds about attending the preview as we are going to Norman on the Friday of that weekend which would leave us free on Sunday. Can't wait to see everyone. Over the last several years we have met fewer NEW friends than in the past. We met Merlin and his esteemed Elder last season and hope to meet more of our RFer friends this season. We will be there opening Saturday (and have to miss Sunday because it's Easter with our other world family) and then  we will be there both days of 2nd weekend. Hoping to make every weekend for the first time ever. Although, can someone do something about the skyrocketing gas prices??? Don't the oil companies know it costs money to go to Faire!?

We will be there every day! Still deciding on FOF picnic though. And BagPipeBabe - on the assumption you are local in the DFW Area, we could try to plan a weekend lunch or dinner to meet you in less of a crowd so that morning tailgate isn't so full of scary wizards! PM me if you're interested - I promise neither Sidekick or I bite!

I know you, son...keeping you sober will be a chore.  Opening weekend, we'll be traveling without extra passengers. They'll be along the following week... I'll fill my ice chest with Harp for Kett, Granny Smith-flavoured Woodchuck Hard Cider for Angus, some Jack of the Daniel for me, Coke & Fresca...what else do I need?

That's going to be Easter weekend. I hope there are no peeps hanging about. Will there be an Easter Ale Hunt?

Anyone coming up from the south might stop at that Czech place (wherever it is) and bring some of their treats! MMmmm! Had some at Sherwood last weekend!

Whatever! Just looking forward to seeing all the folks that didn't get down to Sherwood for opening weekend.

DC mentioned the Forty Creek as well... I must check it out! How is that Ugly Pug? My niece's boyfriend is publishing a new music mag down in DFW area and had their ad in it.

Ugly Pug is the best stout I've ever had. Slightest touch of sweetness... absolutely incredible.

They also make one called Iron Thistle but it's seasonal.... also a very good stout.

On Wednesdays and Saturdays from 5-7:30... you can go to their brewery and pay 7$ to get a tour of the place... a nice pint glass with Rahr Brewery etched on it...and your choice of 3 different beers while you walk around.

Well worth 7$

Looks like cowgrrl & I will be there Opening Day, along with a gaggle of family members in tow, so we most likely won't make the tail-gate...we don't want to scare them off 

Also, as some of you know, I play the doumbek with a group out of Isis' Studio, which puts on the Ivanhoe stage belly dance show.  I found out a few weeks ago that I'll be playing for the stage show this year, most likely just about every Sunday.  I'll try to post the exact days when I find them out...which may not be until a week or two before faire starts.

Seriously though, I doubt if we can get everybody there in time anyway, plus we don't want to miss the opening gate improv.  If we happen to walk past you though, we will stop
