I'll have to think about that sword arch...depends on who's carrying the swords. If any of them have an issue with me, I wouldn't want to have an "accident" that day.

I had the same thoughts on the food, Lady Kett. As Nim doesn't like corn, I'll scratch that option. Finger food is the right choice. I love the turkey legs, but eating them with this beard is a bloody mess.  We're hoping it's a bit cooler for our renewal, being a month earlier than yours, but it is Texas...

Wow. When I came back to this thread, I didn't realize that I had started it so long ago... Nov 2010. But I did want to update things...

I still have a lot to do, but it's going to happen. I have sent numerous invitations out, and have gotten responses from most. While there are a lot of people here I would like to invite, I had to keep it to a manageable number because I also have family and mundane friends that are coming, so please don't be offended if you have not heard from me via PM. Shortly, I'm going to post the list of the people I've heard from who are planning on attending.

Quite frankly, I'm humbled by the response I've received. Since that initial post in 2010, we've come to know so many of you face-to-face. At this moment, I cannot think of a better way to celebrate 40 years of marriage, and 45 years of being together.

So, on April 14, at 10:30, in the Wedding Garden of Scarborough Renaissance Faire, Nimue and I will have a Vow RenNewal. The Lord Mayor of the village will be "doing the honours." We hope to provide an entertaining event...

The management of Scarborough has been very good about the tweaks and changes Nim and I wanted. I just wish Berit was still in the area to come celebrate with us.

I have convinced Eddie Gossage of Texas Motor Speedway to have the NASCAR race on Saturday night.... thereby freeing me up for Sunday so I can come to Scarby! !

I'll pack up late Saturday night and head out of the campground real early on Sunday morning... drop off the camper...grab the food-eater and the wife.... be in the FOF parking lot by 0930 ! !

Well, I can't speak for the others, but Scally and I are excited and honored to be included in that list, and we will be there in our finest attire, and with bells to be rung at ceremony's conclusion!  We will even endeavor to be... on time!

Besides Captain Teague and Lady Gryphon, who else on the guest list will be staying at the Hampton? To make it easier on everyone, I'm going to TRY to have your admission tickets to distribute at the hotel Friday evening. To do so, I'll need to know who will be there to pick them up.

Scally and I are likely to be staying in the van for the weekend, so we will surely be seeing you for the tailgate, at the very least!  Unless, of course, you will be hosting a Friday evening poolside get together...    Errr... does the Hampton have a pool?
