just about done with book two of Peter F. Hamilton's The Night's Dawn Trilogy, which consists of three 1100 plus page novels; The Reality Dysfunction, The Neutronium Alchemist, and The Naked God. If you like your space opera on an epic scale, with dozens of characters, plots, and sub-plots this is a great read.

  This,  Kim Harrison's-The Hollows,  and Laurell K Hamilton-Anita Blake-Vampire Hunter and Merry Gentry-Fairy Princess series are the Big Three, IMHO.
