we are modifying our upcoming weekend schedule at sherwood due to an unexpected gift bestowed upon us--mulch.  lots and lots of mulch.

we had the good fortune of being given many, many truckloads of mulch for our faire grounds.  like some 3000 yards to date.  we have been able to get the trucks into the faire grounds a bit, so we are not having to load the flatbed and then rake it off, then spread it...but the task before us is still daunting.

thus, we are having three straight weekends of gatherings/volunteer days at sherwood beginning january 4th and thru the 20th of january.   volunteer days will be on saturdays.  folk can choose between three major tasks we have:

1) spreading mulch
2) planting
3) fancying up the roman temple for the fairies

folk can surely come out to work on their campsites too.

camp grounds will open each friday afternoons at 4pm and close around 4pm sundays.

we will not have bands playing except the friday, january 18th.  but we will be assembling at the seven sisters on saturday nights.

i really need a feel for the numbers who expect to attend before we commit to potluck/coverdish on saturdays...but i am game.

as usual, we will have drinks for folk, though the keg(s) will be monitored and anyone not looking like an ancient one may be carded.  we cannot risk minors' stupidity jeopardizing sherwood.

so, to reiterate:  saturday work days: january 5th, 12th, and 19th.  cover dish on saturday evening of the 19th.  seven sisters fire circle each saturday evening.  band playing on friday night, january 18th.

drummers and fire spinners, dancers and howlers at the moon all encouraged to lead us at the seven sisters.

one last note; there will be a new year's party monday evening, december 31st, at the ye olde trip to jerusalem.  VaNi MaZi will be entertaining us as we welcome in 2013--no, no, wait--1192!!!

I will be rounding up as much of the Procrastinator crew as possible and making as many of those weekends as we can.  If I were to guess, I would say roughly three to five of us per weekend.

The partners of The Tidepool at Treasure Cove should be there on at least one of the weekends.  Not sure which one though.  We will for sure be out there for the New Years gathering in a couple of days!  I've never been to a gathering, but from all accounts they sound like lots of fun.   :)

the new years eve party was fantastic.  so good. smaller gathering, likely 50+, but the intimacy was powerful.  the music from vani mazi was superb.  loved their spirit.

this weekend and the following two will be opportunities for folk to set up their campgrounds in patrons camping, as well as volunteer with leveling out mulch on the faire grounds.

bring a rake if you have one.  we will likely end up at the seven sisters this saturday night around a campfire.  hope some drummers will join us.
