Spooky is getting married.

As many of you know, Grimm (AKA Andrew), her betrothed is a Marine. He will be shipping out to Iraq before much longer, and they are getting married during his final leave before deployment.

Just TRY to get a straight answer from the USMC that you can plan and schedule around.

That is why notice is so short, and why it will be a VERY informal affair.

Below is a copy/paste of the notice Spooky put up a short time ago on her Myspace page:
_________________________________________________________________________________

Subject:    Wedding Info (Corrections made)
Body:    Date: Saturday August 2, 2008

Time: 8:00 PM Ceremony, (4 or 5 ish for set up)

Place: Allan Saxe Park
3501 Curry Road
http://www. ci. arlington. tx. us/park/guides/trails/trails_allansaxe. html

Bring: Yourself, lawn chair(s) if you want, some kind of picnic-ie-ish food, digi cams if you have them would be awesome cause we don't have a "photographer" Please don't bring gifts. Bring food or soda pop instead.

Sorry that I'm JUST NOW posting this. We just got the date of his leave a couple days ago, and I just NOW like ten minutes ago decided on a place/time.

It's not going to be a big deal. Wear shorts and a tank top or tripps or whatever you feel like. It will probably be really hot, just keep that in mind. We're going to try to do it, get it over, and get yall back into some damn AC as fast as possible.

If you'd like to help me set up or have any ideas (or know someone who can officiate) PLEASE don't hesitate for one second to let me know. I'm really laid back about all this. None o it really matters to me. Whatever will be easiest and best for everyone is what I want. I have my dress, I'm making my bouquet, and that's all I'm really picky about.

You're more than welcome to message me or call and RSVP or whatever, but it doesn't really matter if you don't. It's be nice to have a rough estimate before that day, but I know this is really last minute and might not be possible.

Please copy and repost this for me. The next 10 days are going to be hell-a chaotic, and I don't know how often I can get on and repost this. And I'd really like all my family, CHAOS family, and friends to be there if at all possible.

*hugs and kisses*
Miss you guys
<3 Angel

We would both be most pleased to see any of our Faire family who can attend, but also understand that given such short notice, it may not be possible for many.

No worries, no regrets.

I think I should be able to make this. I'll bring my Canon SLR and try and get some good pictures for them.

Ronald the Bald

Baron,

Sent you a message about someone who could officiate.

Ronald the Bald

Angel_VII

I would LOVE it if you came Sir. Nicolas.

I'm having my bachelorette party right now and I'm not exactly in a straight frame of mind, but anyone who wishes to come is MORE than welcome! Like my dad said, it's nothing fancy (at all) No time to plan stuff.

Thanks for posting this for me dad.

Blessings and Thanks to Ronald the Bald for offering his services to officiate at the wedding.

When Spooky found out that a member of our Faire Family could perform the ceremony instead of a JP selected more or less at random from the phone book her face lit up.

As a Father, I LOVE to see that look on my baby's face.

Andrew is expected to arrive here from Southern California on Monday.

Now that the Marine Corps seems to have finished putting roadblocks in their way, DAD is starting to get excited.

We went today and picked up the bride's dress. It is a very simple style, white (of course), OMG she looks beautiful in it!!!
If it ain't broke... don't fix it.

Spooky in white? Wow - that will be different for my favorite little goth girl -  ;D ;D ;D

baron snail

There has been a CHANGE in the plans.

The TIME for the ceremony has been moved up to 6:00 PM so that there will be sufficient light for photographs.

All the other details remain the same.

For any who wish to call to RSVP, ask directions, etc. our # at home:

Create a wonderful day for yourselves!!

Congrats to the happy couple and soon to be newlyweds ;)  We wish you both the best!  We would come, as the park is only 3 miles from our house, but we'll be out of town at a college reunion.

By the way, you missed having your wedding on our 14th Anniversary by only 4 days  :o

Al-Nimer ---

dangnubbit!!!

I TOLD the child to schedule it 4 days over, but she didn't LISTEN!!  LOL

Have fun at your reunion!!

Andrew has arrived from California (about 2 hours ago) and so Spooky is now walking around about 6 inches up off the ground, with this incredibly silly-weed puller happy look on her face. I expect her to re-join the regular Universe again in a day or two.

We have had a few questions about the request NOT to bring gifts, rather, food or drinks instead.

This is because Spooky will be staying here at home with me after the wedding while Andrew is deployed to Iraq. Shortly before he comes home, she will go to California (with VERY limited space to pack personal possessions) to set up housekeeping for them ON BASE (ie: dwelling furnished with dishes appliances furniture etc.) so they will have no need or space for much for at least a couple more years.

Sooooo..... gifts are impractical. The kids just want as many of our Family and friends as possible there to wish them well and help them celebrate their happy day.

We all look forward to seeing as many of our Faire family as can come.

Blessings to you all.

Well, the deed is done. Congratulations to the happy couple. Pics to follow in a few days. Right now I am too tired to bother with it. That may be due to the 106 degree heat.

Nicolas-Antoine

Congratulations to Angel and Andrew!!

Well this is definitely the funnest wedding I've ever been to. Others should take note.

I think you guys will love the photos. Here's just a few samples from the over 400 I took   ;D

Ronald the Bald

Well, I have been a little too excited to sleep so here are my pics. Not as many as somebody else took, but I was busy with other things.......

These are unedited.

Doing what? You were only officiating the wedding... you had plenty of time to take photos between the "Do you... do you... and you may kiss the bride..."  ;D ;D

baron snail

Well... the Bride and Groom are here with me right now, as they came back here from the hotel where they spent their wedding night.

They look tired. Not sure why, they had plenty of time to get a good night's sleep. Ah well... who can tell with these silly young'uns.

RONALD AND NICHOLAS----

We have all seen the pics you have posted already, and I got to listen to the Happy Couple go "Ahhhhhh, I really like <pointing of fingers> THAT one..." etc. etc.

Thank you and bless you both for what you have done for us.

Andrew's spending a little more time with his friends.. I can't be selfish with him. He's gotta leave in a few days and then he'll be gone for seven months.

Dad's said it, but I want to say it too. Thank you both SOOOO much for everything!!!!

I couldn't have hoped for it to turn out better than it did. We were so worried we wouldn't find an officiant. And we knew some friends would take pics, but nothing like what Sir Nicolas did for us.

We had a lovely.. um... time. We caught a late movie. No seriously. The Mummy 3 is awesome. :D

When we get pics from other people (friends and family) we'll post those up as well.

THANK YOU BOTH AGAIN!!!!!!
