The rain at my folks only lasted about 30 minutes... it was a good soaker for that time, but now all the rain bands are just circling around them. They did loose power, but my sister a few miles away didn't.
That was pretty much it for this storm

*coulda sat on the porch sipping rum and watching it...*

We're safe and sound in La Marque.  It's raining and a little windy, but that's it so far.

Edit:

Just got a call from work, they want us to return at noon, but seeing as the daycare is closed, I'm staying home. ;D
Got faerie dust?

Ok, so, it looks as though the Houston and Woodway offices are closing at 10:30, to allow us flood free travel home. FABULOUS!!!

I'd feel even better about it if I could actually go home without having to WORK!!!

TRF Faire site area checking in, and it has JUST NOW started sprinkling here.

West Houston - raining most of the day, w/a few heavy downpours; light winds.  TS Allison was much worse - at least for us.  And we sure needed the rain.  Stay safe & keep your powder dry, me 'earties!
Sveethot!

Yrose

Nothing but steady rain all day here, just what we needed...... That and a day off... lol nice lazy rainy day!
Don't forget to smell the roses, but watch out for the thorns!

Queen Bonnie

Only a few raindrops here! We sure need RAIN! Hopefully later on tonight?

Here in Bryan, about 40 minutes NNW of TRF, we've gotten

...drumroll, please ...

...one freakin' inch of rain. And a brisk breeze. Big whoopty.

"Not with a bang, but a whimper".
"It's just water, officer, I swear. And yeast. And a little honey. How the alcohol got in, I have no idea!"

RenRobin

It basically breezed right over Austin, sure needed a soaker.... :(

Dem, I had the kids out in the inflatable boat ready to row down the river. PADDLES AND EVERYTHING!!!

And yet, there we sat, in the MOIST grass, with no flood.

Go figure...

You DO realize of course, that all this poo-pooing about how weak this storm was means we're just ASKING for a Cat. 5 during faire, don't you? Remember, karma's a belch...

You'll note that I was not "poo-pooing" the strength, or lack thereof, I know how much of a belch Karma can be my brother. ;)

No poo pooing here either. We needed all the rain we got. We were prepared and safe, better than sorry anyday.

Puh-lease. All my family's storm Karma was boosted when my hubby lost his car in the ocean that was I-10 when Allison came through. I gots Karma to SPARE!

Honestly though, I think that we'd all be better prepared to survive a Cat 5 at TRF than in Houston. Further out, trees to live in, the best possible "survivors". I mean come on, wouldn't you rather survive the Great Flood with a bunch of rennies rather than say, at the Galleria?

but.. but.. at the Gallaria, they have Starbucks, and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, and.. yeah, I guess you're right.. I'd much rather be with a bunch of Rennies than the snooty stuck ups at the Gallaria.
