nliedel, you have some really nifty ideas there.   :D
And speaking of toothbrushes and cleaning, I'm off to be "Big Bad Mom" and make the kids clean their rooms.   :P

Please tell me how you do that? My children are pigs. The main house is clean, but their rooms? Frightening

Mine have their rooms probably equally as frightening...even my daughter's room.   :P  And, except for my oldest, who seems to be finally outgrowing the tendency, they all tend to hide (or try to hide) their messes...behind/under various pieces of furniture; blanket or bigger game hiding smaller stuff.   ::)  So, this time around, as the boys are supposed to go up to their dad's place (my ex-husband) at the beginning of August, I simply gave them an ultimatum:  they won't go anywhere if their rooms aren't properly clean (for my daughter, the threat is not going on the planned trip to her Nana's house).  On other occasions, threatening to withhold the x-box or computer for a week (or month) can get them sufficiently motivated.  :)

My room can be simply atrocious at times. However, since I have garb now I try to keep my room as orderly as possible so I do not lose anything. Back in the day (last year *snicker* I am only 17. 18 in December though. Huzzah!) I would let my room get over run by clothes and other things until I would want a friend to come over. Then I would have to scurry to clean it because I had a sense of pride and did not want to let anyone see how messy I could be at times. Also my mom would threaten not to let me get new garb and not allow me to go the MiRF. My room has been spotless ever since.

Saoirse_Anam

OH PLEASE!!! You never cleaned your room before I came over!! And if you did, I'm terrified. Do you not remember the day that I had to walk across mountains to get to the computer to watch Jim Gaffigan? I will admit, it has become cleaner as time passes.  ;D ;D ;D

hehe. I do admit it took a while but my room is clean as can be now. It's been ages since you've come to visit. Things change. Although, I seem to have misplaced David's shoelace from his steel toed boots of doom. He wants it back. Tough luck, eh?

The law has been laid. There will be NO MIRF without clean rooms. My eldest is working very hard today.

Huzzah! It's definitely something worth working for.

Lord Pumpernickel

Ah yes the bedroom. It seems the only clean part of my room is where I keep my garb. Everything is hung up or in a chest and nothing else goes near that corner.

lol   It's amazing just how industrious they can get with the right "motivation".   ;D

Removal of camp and Cedar Point are also good threats. The thing about my kids is they all know, mom means it. They can end run around dad, but he backs me up. He also makes ridiculous threats, "There will be no TV for a year!" Right...

We've learned cutting the power circut to their bedroom is also an effective tool of cooperation enhancement.

I spotted some gents who truly knew how to make those pleats sway!

I was chatting with a group of wenches by the Fountain late Saturday afternoon, and we espied several lads who knew how to make their pleats dance.

There were even a couple of...lunar sightings...if ya know what I mean.  ;)

Our cry of thanks was:  SCOTLAND FOREVER! :D
