Hope you guys are doing ok.

O'Brien's Hurricane Recipe

1 ounce fresh-squeezed lemon juice
4 ounces dark rum
4 ounces passion fruit syrup
Crushed ice
Orange and/or lime slice
1 Maraschino Cherry

No that's not right!

Terri would know better than I.  Three rums, if I recall correctly?

Yes, darlin', I'd know--

1 oz vodka
1/4 oz grenadine syrup
1 oz gin
1 oz light rum
1/2 oz BacardiĀ® 151 rum
1 oz amaretto almond liqueur
1 oz triple sec
grapefruit juice
pineapple juice

Pour all but the juices, in order listed, into a hurricane glass three-quarters filled with ice. Fill with equal parts of grapefruit and pineapple juice, and serve.

If you use the Bacardi 151, who cares what else is in there or how much!

Baked Chicken, Home made mashed potatoes that are very creamy (I hate lumps in my potato's), Wheat buns, and corn (Toki loves his corn)

Oh yes it was SO very good.

I stuck the chicken in my roaster then put a little melted butter on top then some lemon pepper, Mrs Dash and a bit of Season Salt. I then put some Stubss Chicken marinate around it with about 1 cup of water. Once the chicken was cooked I drained off the liquid and made gravy with it. OH man was it yummy. Looks like left overs tomorrow night  :)

Leftover meatloaf and pasta salad.
Leftover.

*No, Baron, don't have Pat O'Brien's but I remember one night--sitting in the dark on the Cathedral steps feeling the heat rise from the cobblestones and listening to five street musicians.
Yep, street heat, River breeze, smell of beignets in the air, plastic cup of rum. Beads.
Yeah.....take me back there*

If you be refering to me my good Lord, Nah, I am a Northern but a Reb at heart. My mother is where I learned to cook and While I would not say she is southern, she was born in Oklahoma and grew up in Colorado where I am from. My ancestory on her side hails from Germany and America (Fox Indian).

When I first started to cook I would call her up and ask her how I made a said dish and she would tell me. I soon figured out once the basics were down how to do it on my own. And while Toki would say my Fried Chicken is Southern Style it in no way compares to my mothers, but it far exceds my sisters. And as Toki told me last night he has not eaten this well since he lived with his mom in Corpus Cristi.

Tonight is indeed leftovers and tomorrow will most likely be beef tips in beef and mushroom gravy over egg noodles.

All is good Dear Lady.I just wish I could cook as good as you do.I just know a lot of the basics and mostly do basic breakfast and dinner food.As for all these fancy dishes you make God only knows that I wish I could make them have as good as you do.Now here's a funny story a couple years ago I tried to make gravy for the first time and I have to tell you that it turned out very bad.I was made with some left over deer juice since my family loves deer meat.To put it to you mildly it turned out so bad that it ended up as dinner for the dogs. ;D
