Oh Fairyfly, I'm so happy that you finally get to have her come home to you! I know you'll get it all figured out so you can regulate her sugar all the time, so hold the faith in yourself and your ability to deal with things. That is pretty low, and there's got to be a reason. Once you've eliminated everything else, whatever is left must be the cause. Just try to look at every factor of the lows. What time of day? What has she eaten? How long ago? How much insulin has she had? When?

I'm sure you've already asked all these questions, though, and you'll figure it out. Don't forget to take care of yourself, too, though, or you won't be able to take care of her! My thoughts and prayers are with you always.

Thanks Zemirah! From what I saw when I was there, most of her lows are insulin lows. They test her and give her insulin before she eats, then she eats really slowly...like me. So the insulin hits before the food and drops her down. The nurse told them to start waiting to give her the insulin until after she starts eating instead of 10-15 mins before. The main one in question is the one when she was picked up at daycare the other night. My guess would be either she played harder, or didn't eat all of her lunch or snack. Gotta watch my kiddo like a hawk! Tee hee

Oh, but it will be so wonderful when you have her home with you again!!! I know about the rushrush syndrome, though... seems like there never enough time in the day! It will go so much faster than you're prepared for, and so much slower than you'd like, and isn't that just the way of the world... LOL

I'm so happy that you're starting to come out into the light again, honey. I knew you were strong enough to lick this thing, and you'll provide all the strength your kidlet needs, also. You will both be just fine, I know it!

Fly with you...

Thanks hun!

I got some worrisome news today when I spoke to my sister. Apparently little kid is having a rough time of things. My sister had to go get her from school today. TigerFairy was refusing to eat her lunch after getting her insulin shot. Half the school staff was trying to help her to calm down and eat. My sister was freaking out on her way there because it's a long drive from their home and she was afraid little one was going to crash hard. Which could put her in the hospital. From what my sister told me, little one didn't want to come in from playing to get tested. The Principal had to go out to get her, and she ran from her. The Vice Principal got her to eat some of her food, but she put up a fight, literally. When I spoke to her on the phone today, she doesn't want to come home. Which is something she's been going back and forth with. One day she wants me there picking her up now. The next she doesn't want to leave. She is totally convinced that when she comes home she won't have to go to school or do her testing and shots any more. When I tried talking to her about her new school {which I visited today} she threw a fit and gave the phone back to my sister...

I don't know how to help her with this. My sister thinks she needs to go see a councilor for a while when she comes home.

Well, sweetheart, your sister could have a good idea, simply because you're daughter is going through a very major change in her life, and it could only help for her to have someone to talk to about it that doesn't have a specific agenda (like you, your sister, her doctors...). A councilor could help her to see that if she keeps fighting the process then she could make herself more sick.

What she's going through is perfectly normal for anyone, and especially for a little girl. There's a grieving process that we go through when something so life changing happens, and it's got to run it's course so she can come to terms with her reality now. If she tries to skip any of the steps then it will derail the process, and she could end up back at the beginning.

She's going to be upset, and most likely very defiant at times, for quite a while, and it's something she'll definitely need help with. It might help if you find a councilor that will see her for a few minutes by herself, then see the two of you together for a while. That way she can feel like someone is there just to hear her, and she can also have the benefit of your presence later. It could also help you so much in finding new ways to get her to cooperate with the people who are there to help her.

I'm sorry this is so hard on you, and on her, sweetie, but it will get better, I know it will! She will come to terms with all of this eventually, but it's not going to happen over night. It will happen, though, and you will all come through with flying colors... Keep the faith, FF, and I'll keep sending prayers, hugs and healing energy!!! It will all work out in the end...

Everyone is right FF the only thing that is keeping your little girl going is you refusing not to quit.Had you and your sister and the ones who care for her decided to up and quit then this whole situation would have gotten much worse but because of your's and other's strength she is still fighting this thing.I'm so sorry that this whole thing is so hard on you but just continue to hang in there and continue to have faith cause I promise you thing's WILL work out for you both in the end.

You and your little girl continue to be in my thoughts and prayers sweetie.

They  have  special  support  groups   for  kids  with diabetes.  it is  just  for  kids.  They  go and  meet     with a  nurse   and     with  other kids  their  age  who are going  thru the  same  thing  as  them.    They get  to witness  that  there are  other kids  just  like   them,  going  thru the  same  thing.  You might  want  to  ask   her doctor  or school  nurse  if  she   knows  of  any  groups.    Good  luck !  hang  in  there !

Thanks! I'll ask her doctor. The school nurse doesn't seem to know too much, and is a bit on the lazy side. lol

Thank you all for helping to keep me sane!!! It means so much to me!

I'm going to be moving this weekend, and not sure when the internet will be turned on at the new house. My house mate says Monday, we'll see. Lol Have a great weekend everyone! I'm going to miss ya til I get to talk to you again!

Well, the move is over, the unpacking... yeah right. Lol Working on it. Today I'm getting things done so I can catch my plane tomorrow morning. CO here I come again, and hopefully it's the last time for a while. No offense to people that live out there, but it's just getting WAY too cold out there for me. Lol

TigerFairy is once again all ready to come home! She's been doing pretty good the past week, so that's a major plus! I'm getting her info board set up so that all important information is right in one spot for me and everyone else who's going to be helping her out here. The only thing that's really going to be a bit of a pain is that we haven't gotten her bed yet. So, she'll be sharing with me, or getting a make shift bed for a few weeks. She's 7, she can "camp" in our room for a bit. Lol

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving! *HUGS*

I'm so glad you two will finally be together for good now! That in itself will go a long way toward stabilizing things for all of you, and it will give her more of a feeling of security, also.

I want you to know what an amazing job you're doing in dealing with everything right now, and what a wonderful mom you are!!! Things are working out, and they'll continue getting better so long as you stick together, and have faith in yourselves and each other...

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, sweetheart, and kiss the kidlet for us all!!!  ((((HUGS))))
