Just so many hours to go before flight time!!! Not sure if I'll be getting online in the morning, so take care everyone!!! And I'll make sure to give the kidlet LOTS of hugs from everyone!

The nightmare trip home...

First, they had canceled Phoeny's ticket home, and switched her confirmation number to my name, which split the reservation. So the lady at the counter couldn't just reinstate Phoeny's ticket, she had to call the main office and the whole ordeal took about 45 mins to an hour. Then, we didn't get the help I requested, so we had to hike 4 carry-ons {two over head, two smaller under seat} and the car seat to security. Luckily a nice British lady helped us while airport staff stood by and watched. While trying to get the bags, car seat, shoes and jackets on the belts and into the x-ray, plus keep Phoeny's fingers out of the rollers so they wouldn't get squished, I forgot to get the liquids out of the bags. So they completely took apart two of our carry-ons, tested everything, and tried to take away Phoeny's emergency juice because it couldn't be opened and resealed. Then the :-X lady tried to get the rest of our bags that cleared the x-ray and test Phoeny's diabetes supplies. Between me and Phoeny both being upset, and a Lead having to be called over because my bodice daggers {that Grov painted for me} hadn't gotten packed in the checked bag because of shannon and Phoeny driving me nuts while I was trying to pack things, so was found in the bottom of my purse... the Lead took over and told the lady to leave the rest of our stuff alone and give the juice back because I had a note from the hospital to have it with us at all times. BTW, my bodice daggers are no more... We finally got through security, who actually felt bad about the crap we had just went through and got one of the airport transports to get us to our gate. But we didn't have time to eat any more, just grab a quick drink to carry on the plane with us. I figured this wasn't a big deal because the plane has sandwiches on it and that would work for Phoeny. But, by the time the food cart got back to us, there were no more sandwiches left and everything else that they had, she couldn't have. It all had chocolate and candy in it... We got to Philly ok, only to call Reds to come pick us up and her friend that she asked to give her a ride up to get us wasn't there and had been supposed to be there half an hour before I called. I was livid to say the least! I left a key to my Jeep and my house mate was giving her gas money and bridge toll to use it to come get us!!! Why the freaking :-X she had to ask someone else to drive her up there to get us, I have no friggin clue. Our flight landed shortly after 10pm and they didn't pick us up until around midnight. All the food places in Philly airport were closed and the vending machines didn't have anything Phoeny could have either. So she didn't get food until close to 1am. By the time the food was put in front of her, she was so tired and getting low, that she didn't want to eat anything anymore. I had to literally fight with her to get some juice in her to get her blood sugar fixed. I asked her, told her, yelled at her, explained what would happen if she didn't at least drink the juice, spanked her butt and finally broke down crying my :-X off scared as :-X while trying to force the juice down her throat. Seeing me crying and that upset finally made her decide to drink the juice. I can't even tell you about it with out crying again. By the time we got her home, she was asleep and it was after 3am.

I told Phoeny that for at least the next year, if we have to go any where, we are driving. I don't care how far away it is, I am NOT going to fly again after all that. Oh, Phoeny also has a cold, which wouldn't let her ears pop on the plane for a long time, so she was crying and having a fit for part of the flight. I got tv for her but she got upset because Miley Cyrus was singing at the tree lighting in Rockefeller Square in NY and the :-X flight attendant talked through her entire first song, which we didn't know wasn't the only song she was going to sing that night. So needless to say, the flight didn't start out fun, nor was the screaming child, kicking Phoeny's seat behind us fun, the middle was ok, the end wasn't because her ears were bugging her again. I told Phoeny that I would not fly again until the Scout is with us to lend a hand and keep me sane. All in all with how upset Phoeny got through out the day, and at dinner, her blood sugar went from being close to low when we landed, to being in the 400's when I went to put her to bed, so I had to give her a shot.

What a welcome home huh?

So you could imagine just how pissed I was when I walked through the door carrying my little asleep sweetie, who had just gone through some :-Xhell, and saw all the friggin :-X all over the house with habbi-trails around the boxes and loose crap! My housemate did absolutely nothing the entire week I was away, except add another truck load of :-X to the piles in the living room.

I'm getting things moved, unpacked and put where *I* think they should belong. I mean, if you aren't going to help me get the house in order, you don't really get to :-X about where things end up, right... :( >:(

I am totally looking forward to the Scout getting home for Christmas and having a bit of a mental break while he's here! Plus he's offered massages. Tee hee  ;D

Oh sweetheart, I am so sorry the trip was so lousy, and that so many things went wrong! You have every right to lock yourself in the bathroom, throw a gigantic hissie fit, and then take yourself a long, hot bubble bath! Or whatever else you can use to de-stress...

I'm glad you're home, though, and your guy will be home soon for the holiday! Things will get better, eventually, honey... keep the faith!!!

I'll write more tomorrow, but it's Sat, and I need to go back to bed...

Take care of yourself, to, Fariyfly, because you need to keep yourself healthy so you can keep Phoeny going...

Thank you! The HUGS TAG Back made me smile and laugh! I really needed that! *HUGS* My little sweetie keeps giving me all kinds of hugs and kisses too! Although, the using Mom as a jungle gym along with all the lifting I've had to do, is killing my back. Happy pain meds!!! And yes, Hot Baths!

That sounds wonderful!!! I like mine without marshmallows, and my kidlet likes it with... I'll make the grilled cheese!!! (I can't really do popcorn these days, but I'll make that also, because what's a movie marathon without it???)

My heart goes out to you FF. That sounds like a seriously hellish trip. I especially related to the food thing. On a recent trip to Texas I'd planned on lunch when I arrived and so didn't eat. It was only a two hour flight. Well I had no idea our plane would be delayed on the tarmac for an additional two hours. I was starving, I had a cold and was getting an awful headache. No one around me had any aspirin and the only food left was a cookie which was tossed my way by an obviously stressed stewardess.

Anyway, I'm glad your daughter is home for Christmas and doing well with her shots. Put some pepermint snapps in that chocolate and curl up with those movies. You deserve a mini holiday.

Darn...knew I forgot something today... popcorn! Lol It's cool though, it was a decently nice relaxing day. Too bad my house mate was home for the day and just kept annoying me. Other wise, great day. Wish the spasms in my back would stop though. *shrugs*

RFP, I'll probably take tomorrow off for the most part as well. Need to give my back time off before moving more furniture by myself. But I'm getting there, one box or book case at a time! *HUGS* To you and Brenda!

RR, More movies planned for tomorrow. Please, come join us! Plenty of coco for every one!  :D
