So I'm trying out to be a Faire at Bristol and I'm wondering, in your opinions do you think fairies need to be tiny. I mean I'm a lean size 10 at 5'10" and I'm in wonderful physical condition but I'm not skinny.

Any opinions?

Agreed.  With such a regal height, you might look stunning as a Titania-esque character.

Just got look at other fay pictures from other faires Like TRF or St Louis whi has a faierie garden with many of them. you will see all different types, sizes, shapes heights colors etc... Remember, they are magical creatures so they can transform if need be to fit a situation. Even up by our faire in Upper Wisconsin we have them and most can not see them playing it realistically, unless drunk or daft, so that makes it even more fun no matter what size. Go for it and have fun.

I used to have so much fun in Tenn.  making a decree that there were no Fairies and would give a purse of gold to any child who could bring me a fairie.   During the day some kid would bring up one of the fairies and then the fun began.  Of course I could not see a fairie, as you have to pure of heart, so I would walk all over the ground trying to find the fairie that the kid had brought and every time I would step in the place that the fairie was,  the fairie would move so of course I could not be presented with something that did not exist.   Never had to give out a purse of gold either.

You are tiny. Lots of giants and big people out there.

Thankfully you have a large heart, as Fairies need that.

Best wishes on your tryout,

Thanks everyone, I know this may be a bit personal for this forum but I recovered from an eating disorder a couple years ago. And I always told myself I couldn't do this, be a faerie because of my body. But I truly love my body and I will do my hardest and audition for this part. Hey if this doesn't work I'm sure I'll find myself a part of the BRF cast.

Thanks again,

Size 10? What is this mystical code language that men can't comprehend? Or is it just me? ;D

No really, women's clothing size numbers mean nothing to me.

It doesn't matter though. Dress in whatever manner makes you happy. :)

Oh I know men are usually comfused when we mention these numbers. Truthfully it doesn't matter, I wear what fits but you wouldn't believe how much a number on a pair of pants means to most women.

In fairness, a photo of you in Fairie garb would assist to make informed decision.

Sorry, I'm in one of those moods tonight

I am exactly the same build and I have found some fairy outfits that are great. Stay away from really tight bottoms and it should be fine.  Try something with a corset and some short fun skirts.  I actually turned a belly dance outfit into a fairy outfit and it looks amazing.  A size 10 for someone our height is not fat at all.  Heaven forbid we get a few more woman shaped like playboy models and less shaped like starving supermodels.

Fairies at Bristol?  Tryout?

If the fairies on staff at Bristol have the same role as the ones at the related RPFS, they're story tellers in the childrens' area (I still refuse to call it Kid's Kingdom) and I believe their costumes are provided by the Costume Dept.  Both these ladies are full size.  One is a bit heavier than the other, but neither is stout.

From your description, I'd guess that you're similar in build to the thinner of the two at RPFS.

All that matters is that YOU fell comfortable in you garb.
