Anyone planning an opening weekend run to Scarby? I'm thinkin' I may have to make that happen! :D

Scarby is on the list that Toki and I would LOVE to visit, but I don't think it would happen this year as the cost of gas and room would be to much. Now if we had two others to car-pool with? Well maybe more likely then

Have fun

oh gosh, I really would like to go. If anyone figures out a price range so I could say yea or nay...that would be helpful :D
How do I know I haven't missed it?!...what if it WAS the chicken!

Well, I can't go because I'm using my vacation time for Star Fest, BUT

For four people, you'd be looking at $105 per person for a hotel, if you all slept in one room. If you wanted two rooms, it'd be twice that. That's a Friday check in, Monday check out.
And 900 miles of driving, if you got 30 mpg would be 30 gallons of gas, at an average of $2 per gallon (I have no idea what it is in Kansas or Texas) would be $60 in gas or $15 per person for gas. Now, if you did it at the going rate of mileage - $0.505, you'd be looking at $454.50 one way or $113.65 per person. So, $30-$227.30 for the trip.
Plus food, you should figure for four days at least $100 per person, if you're good.
Not to mention the $22 per day admission.
So, you're looking at about $280-480 per person for the trip, depending on how you wanted to divide up the driving costs.

Now, you know. And knowing is half the battle.
Aren't numbers fun?

yes.....I am bored....why do you ask?

fixed for gas both ways.
o/` I'm a little teapot...o/` No, I'm not, that would be silly. ::)

I was just doing a rough figure

IF, and it's a big IF Toki and I were to drive it would be about $180 in gas going off $1.80 a gallon as gas is about $1.70 right now. 16 gallon tank, It's 842 miles from Loveland to Waxahachie, TX where the faire is. and we get about 19 miles per gallon so that's about 95 gallons of gas coming to $171 give or take a few gallons. Divide this by say 3 $60 a piece or if 4 it would be $45

Then the room at $55 a night at Day's Inn (just picked one) that's $165 for 2 people in 1 room. hen you have food which will run you ??? Tickets for faire $44 per person for two days

So you'd be figuring a cost of ab out about $360 to $400 to go per person roughly figuring.

I'd love to go to Scarby ... but I'd rather go to TRF in the fall!

Good luck!  And anyone who wants to go might want to check out airfares, there are deals out there.

Don't forget, too, once you get into Texas there is a Dairy Queen every two miles- that's a lot of peanut buster parfaits going and coming back.
