I was thinking a "Drunken Pharaoh", but that is just a suggestion...

Similar to the song "Drunken Sailor".

"What would you do with a Drunken Pharaoh..."
Chief cook, and bottle washer...

How about an "Irish Mummy"?

Wouldn't an Irish 'Mummy' have a wee bit of milk/Irish cream as well?
When you die can you donate your body to pseudo-science?

Since the main ingredient in the Eqyptian mead is Hibiscus, how about a "High Irish"?

Or after you've had a few, it will slur into a Hirish.

Lady Renee, I'm from MN, and I'll be at Bristol the rest of the season, hint hint

Too bad we can't bring our own onto site, however I do have a hotel room off exit 344

My son brought one of those small personal kegs of Heineken to Bristol on the Sunday he came with us.  It was in the trunk of the car.  When he went out in the parking lot to get a drink, while he was refilling his mug, Security came and took the keg away from him, out of the trunk.  On his way out of the faire, he had to return to Security to retrieve it.  So no more booze at Bristol, not even in the trunk. But if you come to NW Illinois, the door is open.

So sorry to hear about the confiscation, note the "too bad we can't bring our own onto site" in my prior posting.  He probably would have been just fine if he'd left it there and not been drinking out of it, then security wouldn't have even known it was there.

Speaking of Mead!

This chilled glass of egyptian goes down particularily well while sitting on the patio and wathing the day fade away.

Hey!  What can I say?  Just warming up for the long weekend.

dorkyfaerie

I am done.  I will not be back out this year and may not come back at all.   I am not willing to come home from fest and cry myself to sleep anymore over the way MAF is treating Jim and the mead family.  MAF went too far.  I have much more to say, but I don't want to get thrown into John's Inn.

Please be good to Jim and the people who work in the mead booths.  Please go up to the meadery and buy bulk mead and let them know you would support them outside of fest.

Thanks for being so good to me for so many years!!  I'll see you at a pub night or another festival!

Will Gamwell

Take care hun!  I'm sure we'll see you around outside of fest here and there.  I heard what happened from Margaret.  I will definately continue to purchase Mead from Jim and always love doing it the way that makes him the most money.

Hi Dorkyfaerie,
I am sad that my partner and I only had a glass of mead. We wanted more, but he was getting heatstroke so we thought it best to have more ice/water instead. It is gloriously good though, and one of the main reasons (besides garb-watching!) why we attend fest, so the $6 price wasn't an issue. I do know that several people left the Mead Booth around 10am on sunday because there was a problem with the taps and they were being grumpy, but as it was fixed in under 20 min I felt they were being a bit unfair. Mechanical problems happen, and they said something at the other mead booth had broke too so you guys were running around all day trying to make sure we could get mead.   We would love to visit the meadery and will have to try to see if we can find it next year....its unfortunately a fair ways out of the way back to Canada (and they aren't open during fest, correct?) and sadly Im pretty sure I can't afford the taxes&duty on a keg of mead (though I'd love to have one...)

Sorry to hear dorkyfaerie.
I hope the time comes where you can go out there and have fun again.
You shouldn't have to go home upset from working, especially at fest.
