I was right! That poor bottle of Jamesons was very lonely. We had a very good time together.

Splendid, Rapier! I hope the evening didn't get completely out of hand, but if it did, may all your babies be born naked.

I've upped my standards. Now, up yours.

No, unfortunitly I don't have any local willing participants. No, that's not true. Rather I should say, I don't have the willing participant I want, locally.

So...it was just me and the bottle. But I was gentle with it so that we can have fun again some time soon.

Prayers going out to my friend, Martin... Monte!  What the hell are you doing in the hospital again!?!

Get well quick or we'll wheel you to the altar!  :D ;)

I'm adding mine to yours, Fraser... and everyone else's!  Scally and I are praying he will recover quickly, and there will be no more health problems for him from now on!

Monte headed home yesterday afternoon from the hospital.  I visited with him before he left and he was in his typical Monte Good Spirits.  He will most definitely be sore for awhile so we wish him a fast recovery as well.

This is good news, KP!  Thank you for the update on our friend!  ;D

Oh, I'm so glad!  We've been so worried about him!!!  Thanks, KP... we'll give him a day or two to rest at home and then give him a call so Scally can see for herself that he's recovering.

The other day after we heard he was in the hospital she kind of surprised me.  She came to me with the wishbone we had been saving from the Christmas turkey and said it was time, then she told me we needed to wish for Monte to get better...  You know when someone has that sort of affect on a 9y/o that they're awfully special.

Poor Monte, that's not a good way to walk down the aisle.

Our apartment was broken into today while I was down in the city at a doctor's appointment...  Nothing was taken, that I can see, anyway, but it has left me feeling very insecure, and afraid to leave our place unattended in case I get back and find everything we own... gone.  Really, the only valuable thing I own that anyone would try to sell is my computer, since my tv is probably close to 16 years old, but there are things I wouldn't want to lose, and I feel like I have no way to protect anything.  The dead-bolted steel door did no good when they pried the whole inside door jamb off, and took out the 3" screws that were set into the stud as well.  Of course, they were only 1/2 deep in the stud, but a good 1/4 of that came away with the lock plate...

The first thing Scally said was... "I wanna MOVE!!!"... and I agree 100%!  I'm going to Radio Shack tomorrow to look for magnetic alarms for the door and windows...

That is terrible Rani.  I sure wish there were something I could do for you.

Dogs make good alarms too (o:

Thanks, KP.  They do, and we would love to have a dog... but I can't afford the $300 non-refundable "pet deposit".  :(

I'm hoping the ear splitting alarm will act as a deterrent if they decide to come back.  I'm afraid to leave for long enough to go buy one, though...  I know whoever did it either lives in this complex, or was being informed by someone who does, and they know what I drive.  When no other cars are around during the day it's easy to see if someone is home or not, so I've been marked...

So much for the "security team" that supposedly patrols the place.   >:(

Unfortunately, the pet deposit is the least of the expenses. I spend almost $150 a month on dog food for my crew, the smaller of which is over 100 pounds.  What does your complex manager say? They have some responsibility in this, I should think, to provide you with a reasonably secure apartment, and it doesn't sound that way.

My community is relatively crime-free and is just outside of a fairly high crime city (Little Rock). I think ours is the highest cop/civilian ratio city in the state. I'm sure all here are as distressed as I over your safety! I'd invite you to move here, but the summers are even more miserable than in Oklahoma.
