Storgosia (Storgozia) is located in the vicinity of modern Pleven, north central Bulgaria.

Storgosia was a road station of Ancient Rome that grew into a Gothic Castle in  medieval Bulgaria. Its white stone walls crown the hill and enclose the ruins of the Roman Basilica.

Château de La Palice is a castle in the commune of Lapalisse in France.

Built between the 11th and 13th centuries, the feudal part of the castle was acquired by Jacques I de Chabannes in 1430. His grandson, Jacques II, maréchal of France, built the Renaissance wing at the beginning of the 16th century.

Grizane Castle is a ruined castle and site near Grizane in western Croatia.

In the medieval age it was a strategic point in Vinodol valley, but it was damaged in an earthquake in 1323. Its owners were the members of Frankopan family.

Dív?í Hrad (Maiden's Castle) village lies on the river Osoblaha in the Czech Republic.

The first written reference dates back to 1267, when in the Brunos of Schaumburg will it is stated as Deuviz Castle. The greatest boom the chateau has ever experienced was at the end of the 16th century and at the beginning of the 17th century under the rule of Sedlnický from Choltice. In this time the chateau received its renaissance style which has been preserved until these days.

Gjorslev castle lies in Holtug Sogn on Stevns in Denmark

It was built around 1396 entirely out of limestone by Bishop of Roskilde Peder Jensen Lodehat, though there may have been a wooden fortress already there. Former owner of Gjorslev, before the current castle was built, was (2nd half of 1200-century) Rane Jonsen according to official records.

Scargill is a ruin located in the Pennines of England, situated close to the River Greta.

The 15th century castle is mostly gone except for the gatehouse and a small piece of the main keep. The outer walls have been dismantled to form the fences of the cattle enclosures that surround it.

Vasknarva is an order castle on the northeastern border of Old Livonia.

The first castle was founded in 1349. 1427–1442 a new castle (Vastne-Narva) was built, which became the centre of the vogtei of the Livonian Order.
The name translates from Estonian as "Copper Narva". According to etymology it derived from the copper roof of the castle.

The Château de Wittschlœssel is a ruined castle situated in the commune of Dambach,France.

Built in the 13th century with the name "Schmalenstein", the castle is more of a guard tower, dominating the valley of Obersteinbach.

Castillo de Tudela is located in the Principality of Asturias in Spain.

Tudela was built in the thirteenth century on the ruins of an earlier castle. It was rebuilt by Alfonso III. The currently preserved castle is from the construction point of view the centuries XIII and XIV , and is largely confined to the remains of the tower . Lines are also seen of the double moat around it.

Alcazaba and Castillo de Tudela, an ancient Muslim fortress, was one of the largest in the Kingdom of Navarra.

The ruins today show extensive walls and a series of gate towers going to the base of the hill. A statue of Jesus has been erected on the remains of the central keep. During the Arab domination belonged to the Banu Qasi , Tudela who made ??the capital of their state. After the Christian conquest of 1119, with Alfonso I the Battler , becoming part of the Crown Navarro-Aragonese. With V García Ramírez the Restorer , Tudela and its castle were incorporated definitively into the Kingdom of Navarra.

Château du Vieux Windstein is a ruined castle in the commune of Windstein, in France.

The first documented mention of the château de Windstein is dated 1205. It was built at the end of the 12th century by the Hohenstaufens to protect their imperial palace at Haguenau. The castle was a fief of the Empire, in the possession of the Windstein family.

I just love the names of some of these castles. Huckeswagen Castle is the castle of the town of Huckeswagen in Germany.

The castle Huckeswagen (castrum Hukingiswage) was mentioned for the first time in 1189, owned and probably built by the Counts of Huckeswagen however, already in 1138. In 1260 the County of Huckeswagen was disposed to the Counts Berg, and the HuckeswagenerCcounts moved to Moravia.

Burg Nohfelden, also known as Burg Veldenz, is situated on a Veldenz mountain spur in the town of Nohfelden in northern Saarland, Germany.

The hilltop castle is first documented mention in 1285. Its builder, William II Bossel of Oberstein that comes from Oberstein on the Nahe, the deed must be in the Count of Veldenz the right opening to admit to his castle. After the extinction of the family Oberstein, the castle goes to the Count Veldenz.

Schloss Veldenz in the Mosel Valley region is a Castle ruin about 1.5 kilometers southeast of Veldenz, Germany.

The first written reference to the castle was in the year 1156 (possibly as early as 1107). Frederick I (Barbarossa) confirmed the holding by Bishop Albert I of Verdun of the castle together with the surrounding land.

Somosko Castle is on the border between Hungary and Slovakia.

When the castle was built in the 13th century, both it and the viilage were part of Hungary. Since 1920, the village remained in Hungary, but the castle is now in Slovakia.
