Castillo de la Real Fuerza is a fortress on the western side of the harbour in Havana, Cuba.

A previous fortress, the Fuerza Vieja (Old Force), was badly damaged in 1555 during an attack on Havana by the French privateer Jacques de Sores and eventually was demolished in 1582. In 1558 Bartolomé Sánchez, an engineer appointed by Phillip II of Spain, began work on the new fortress.

Kantara Castle is the easternmost of the castles situated on the Kyrenia mountain range in Northern Cyprus.

The first historical mention of the castle is in connection with Richard the Lionheart's capture of Cyprus in 1191.

Kantara did not come up on a site search. But since I have a nagging feeling that I have featured it before, you get a bonus castle for the day.
Babylon Fortress was an ancient fortress city or castle in the Delta of Egypt, located at Babylon in the area today known as Coptic Cairo.

Diodorus ascribes the erection of the first fort to rebel Assyrian captives in the reign of Sesostris.
The Romans built a new fortress with typically Roman red and white banded masonry nearer to the river.

The Saladin Citadel of Cairo is one of the most popular tourist attractions of Cairo, Egypt.

While the Citadel was completed in 1183-1184, the wall Saladin had envisioned was still under construction in 1238, long after his death.

Stenberga Castle (also known as Teinperi) was a small medieval castle in Masku, Finland.

Excavations have not been carried out on the site since the early 20th century, which has given room to dispute the castle's age. Some historians see it as a 14th century construction, while others date it to the late 12th century.

Château de Bouteville which remains an impressive ruin and one of the most beautiful castles in Charente, France.

A castle was built at the site during the Gallo-Roman period which was partially demolished to build the newer one. Records show the present structure 1028, when the castle belonged to the family of Angouleme.

The Citadel of Qaitbay is a 15th century defensive fortress built upon/from the ruins of the Lighthouse of Alexandria, in Alexandria, Egypt.

Château de Chillac, the current castle in Charente is a beautiful building of XV century construction.

The lords of Chillac are mentioned in many ancient texts, and the castle already existed in the eleventh century it came under Barbezieux, but it disappeared during the Hundred Years War.
It was rebuilt in the XV century on the foundations of the old castle.

Burg Ahlden is a castle at Ahlden on the Lüneburg Heath in Lower Saxony, Germany. It was built in 1549 on the Aller, which has since changed its course.

It is principally known as the place of imprisonment of Sophia Dorothea of Celle, otherwise Sophie Dorothea of Brunswick-Lüneburg, wife of George I of England and the mother of George II of England. When she was divorced from her husband in 1694 after her affair with Lieutenant Königsmarck, she was brought to Ahlden Castle, where she was imprisoned until her death in 1727.

Castelvecchio (Italian: "Old Castle") is a castle in Verona, northern Italy. It is the most important military construction of the Scaliger dynasty that ruled the city in the Middle Ages.

The castle stands on the probable location of a Roman fortress outside the Roman city. Construction was carried out between 1354 and 1376.

Visegrad is a small castle in Pest County, Hungary.

Visegrád was first mentioned in 1009 as a county town and the chief town of an archdeaconry. After the destructive Mongol invasion of Europe in 1242, the town was rebuilt in a slightly different location to the south. The Castle itself is 2 separate sets of fortifications.
