it's thursday afternoon
the skies are covered with winter clouds
it's cold outside

i was just writing about instructions for camping and campfires and parking for this weekend's gathering.  i was writing some at the end about our being caretakers of this great experience called sherwood...and i felt compelled to let you in on a bit of the mindset of the two partners in this venture (yet, we fully realize all of us are partners in sherwood)

so, originally, i had another set of partners who went in with me to purchase the land.  george has since bought them out of their half ownership in the land.   but, before that, we were working on the lease...and they wanted to extend a 20 year lease to sherwood.  ok, remember, i own half the land at this time and all of sherwood.  but george was considering buying 40% of sherwood.

george was extremely uncomfortable with a mere 20 year lease.
why? because, he, like myself, had the mindset that we were building sherwood to last a 1000 years--a living breathing organism that would far outlive our mortal lives.  one that would, as most of experienced at the dedication of the seven sisters, actually take on a life of its own.  and we, george and i, would only be the caretakers of this beautiful faire that would breathe and laugh and cry with every life that was a part of this adventure.  now george and i have no other investors--other than the likes of this community!

there you have it: two businessmen who want sherwood to live forever.  so, when i ask that each of you assume the responsibility as caretakers of sherwood, i want your spirits and souls--your blood, sweat and tears--to be about the making of something extremely long lasting and filled with wonderment...for sherwood will have our commitment to its success now and for many years to come.

see yall soon, dear tribal members.

cheers and many blessings,

rengypsy
