Alas, faire has ended, depriving us of our usual *coughexpensivecough* meeting place and stomping grounds (they even kicked all of us who work there out). So, now what? Are we to be deprived of one another's company for an entire year, or are there secret societies of between-faire rennie gatherings that I, in my unending hermitage, am unaware of? I would rather not rely on Scarby since my wife will probably look like someone shoved an Oompaloompa up her shirt sideways (her due date is 03 April), but I understand the holidays will be eating everyone for a while. So, plans for Feb anyone? Weekly gatherings at pubs or the like?

yes, I'm bored  :P

We like to do gatherings once a month, and informal get togethers whenever we feel like it. Shall I keep you in the loop??? LOL

And the rest of us that are too far away hear about the monthly gatherings and hope that maybe one of these days, they'll make it down for one again.  :-\

This is the current state of affairs for me, pretty much the status quo:

O <--- the loop.............................................................. me  -->  ???   way outside of it

Any changes that could be made to that would be greatly appreciated ;D

Got to agree with Gwen.  If my wife was able to wobble around Scarby at 7 months, yours should do ok in the cool weather, and a much smaller faire.  :)

Should be plenty of places for her to sit and rest her feet.  And it'll be good for the youngin to hear all of the music and laughter.  Ours was born with a love for bagpipes.  We found that bagpipes got the most activity out of her when she was in the womb.  Seems to have continued since shes been here in the outside world  ;D

Meauho, thank you SO much for listing those! I knew of A-Con, but that is Dallas....I loves me some anime and am somewhat of a japanophile in my own right...living in south texas away from Funimation *while I have my quibbles with them, at least they inspire the anime drive of North Texas, being the largest importer of anime into the United States, Go Texas*, I was in a sever drought of all things anime and Japanese outside of the asian markets in Houston, and that in itself is a scary thought. Great list of cons! let me add BabelCon in Baton Rouge LA. They're still working on their website for 2010, but it's a great con with a big renfaire component.

Unfortunately, due to a death in the family and my attendance at her funeral in Alaska this spring (spreading of ashes), I am now off the circuit of going anywhere for the foreseeable future. Keep posting info, though, because I'm pretty sure someone out there will find it useful

Riot

There are gatherings all over the place, Each of the 4 big cities (Houston, Austin, SA, and Dallas) have one weeks of the months (I think it goes SA 1st Saturday, Dallas 2nd Saturday, Houston 3rd Saturday, and Austin 4th Saturday). I know a few others that do smaller gathering about once a month too, but they are on different weekends based on what someone can do or goings on) Plus there are small faires in between.
